I take back my initial thoughts. It has the same problem as 'woke' outlooks at be honest. You just get to see that prize prIck Dan Wootton lick his lips at anything unhinged or untrue that gets those on the right hard. No different from it's left counterparts. It appeals to people too weak to genuinely think, converse or get along... and too eager to support sh!t just because they feel it vaguely supports their outlook. We've seen how that goes, and I've had more than a good laugh at those who hitch up to that wagon. And will likely continue to do so... Your opinion and all opinion's welcome, and good to see you have the intellect to rise above the weak and unable to converse. Certainly, to move the discussion along we need more posts like yours and I thank you for it. Interesting that now the ad boycott losing steam and brands getting ready to blame their ad agencies / PR agencies. Andrew Neil as usual bang on facts , see if any of the boycotters actually engage with AN let alone show where GB news has been pushing hate filled content. Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

I'm certainly with you on that. No matter the slant or take, attempts to silence just push things underground. Over the decades various groups and parties cheer when they manage to silence ideas and outlooks they want to snuff out. For one, that never works and secondly if you hang around long enough the shoe is always on the other foot...

I think the channel will obviously be a success as traditionally around 40 percent of the country vote Conservative consistently and they have criminally been deprived of a right leaning broadcaster since Murdoch gave up control of British Sky's political slant. The idea that people will stop watching because the production isn't perfect or that some shows are crap just shows the blind spot that some on the left have for those who don't view the world through their lens. I won't be watching it live though as I sent my BBC cancellation letter last week. Also, I agree with those who see most media news for what it is - gatekeeped and crafted opinion to suit a political demographic. Besides as a social conservative this channel carries that same defeated right wing perspective that exists as nothing more as painkiller as the world around them changes. But on truth in news I've long been of the view that anyone serious about honest opinions has to pick their journalist because objectivity is largely a myth. Most normies don't see the world like that because they are less interested in any particular truth than having their own opinions fed back to them. The great thing about the Internet is....or increasingly was (because censorship has altered the game) the fact that you could easily gain access to different non mainstream takes on the same news event from all political perspectives. So I'd see what Jimmy Dore, Tim Pool, Sargon and others thought about what was controversial. If you're serious about news (and to be fair most people don't have the time) you need that analysis from different political bubbles before your take is truly your own.
