Public ownership is essential and is happening right now, as a result of failed privatisations.

And it is the tories that are being forced reluctantly into doing it.

Channel 4 is publicly owned and works on a commercial model funded by advertising.

Would very much like to see the BBC on same model.

Broadcasting is quite different to utilities and transport.

I have always been against privatised water.

I favour public ownership of trains if we can guarantee not to return to the dark days when I used to suffer having to commute into London Bridge 76-82.

I agree Govt has taken back running of some failed lines.

Never seen a convincing argument that water and rail can provide decent returns for investors and have capital for investment.

Labour had 14 years to take water and rail back into public ownership so don't lecture me on what the Conservatives are doing.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Channel 4 really has supplied distinctive programmes that have extended the news agenda. It’s hard to believe a private owner, especially one from overseas, would maintain that commitment at anything like its current level.

An achievement of the Thatcher administration, I have to say.

I liked The Tube back in the day. And the Red triangle movies as a teenager. Taught me how to program a VHS recorder.
Tomorrow they show the Lions, they had cricket for a while. So not all bad.
Can't stand their news or any reality show.

Red and Blue Army!

Yes, I agree that some is for me, cricket and rugby.

I think I biased by the exasperation that Big Brother ever became popular.
