Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Er…he clearly did.

Plan A - Nuno
Plan B - Favre
Plan C - Patrick Vieira

Spurs, Everton and Fulham have only just announced their new managers we seem still on track to announce ours very soon too.

As for PVs CV - I agree he doesn’t have Juergen Klopp’s managerial record as someone else has pointed out nor did Juergen when he started. And of course we are not Liverpool.

Er . . . Clearly not

Do any of us(apart from Dazza) know what is true? Thought Plan A started with Lampard & then went on a winding path of click-bait names, how many? 9?

Before anyone tries to'correct' me, was Nuno really turned down by SP? Was he even in the frame? Who said so, Dazza & click-bait, same as Favre, click-bait stories?

I know for a fact, we will have a manager/head coach. When, god knows, Who? $64k Q?(those of more mature years will know this).

So you are suggesting that Parish had MORE than just plans A,B & C? Interesting. You may be right! I was replying to Uphill who suggest he should have had at least a plan A, B & C - which we both agree, he did - and more!

Albeit Nuno left Wolves after the season finished, and Favre apparently approached CPFC in June rather than the other way round and hasn't been considered before that. Given it's widely accepted the Hodgson decision was taken a fair while before it was announced any plans we did have seem to have changed substantially.

Rather than a structured succession plan that was created in March/April, it does feel more like a game of whack-a-mole that started at the end of May.

So you are suggesting that the plans have changed as new options have become available? I think you are right there!

That’s good isn’t it? To change your plan’s when you have new information? Or would prefer that he said “no, no I didn’t know about Nuno or Favre when I made my plans 6 months ago so I can’t even consider them now that they have become available”

Yes, I do think that is right. The concerning part is that for Nuno to have been Option A and then Favre, who wasn't under consideration, to be Option B suggests that the board didn't really fancy anyone on the original list (Cooper) or that no-one on that original list really fancied us (Lampard).

That feels especially true because a timely appointment is more a priority for us than other clubs due to the work the squad needs.

If we liked Cooper, Nuno popped up but we couldn't land him, then we went back to Cooper, then no dramas. For the new name at the top of the list to repeatedly be the last name added to the list is more concerning.

As far as I'm concerned you're spot on md. I cannot fathom this school of thought that fails to recognise the fast moving, ever changing landscape in which football clubs operate. It's not an environment on which the club can exercise control.

Who actually has ever had a succession plan? How does one even work? Happy to be corrected but I cannot think of any such approach working well anywhere.

So what if we knew Roy was leaving in April? We didn't know which managers would be interested and available until the summer, and then we've got to play it by ear as (and I make no apology for repeating myself here) - getting a manager is not like buying something on amazon. IF THEY ARE ANY GOOD THEY WILL HAVE OTHER OPTIONS! Why does anyone think Palace can force a deal to happen? What is complicated about the idea that you need both parties to agree to the deal and Palace are only one of them?

The only way Palace could have been certain to secure a new manager in good time is if that manager wanted to come and didn't want to explore any other options - in other words, a suboptimal appointment. Which plenty on here would have slaughtered the club for.

I concur. Also, we have no idea whether there had been someone in line for the job who for whatever reason changed their mind, or the club changed theirs. All Parish has said on the matter is that lots of people are interested in the job; beyond that is all conjecture so far as we can tell.

Until we get any official statements fans will understandably be concerned, but I am trying to look at it as a fresh start rather than a reason to worry.

I understand the point and can see the logic but the argument becomes weaker as other clubs have appointed managers far more quickly and there is a degree of urgency here as pre season is just around the corner and it does seem that clubs struggle where for whatever reason there are delays in preparation leading to a shorter or disrupted pre season.

We are an established club operating in the world's richest league. There should be no shortage of high quality and very capable applicants and it does seem odd we have not yet made an appointment.

Absolutely no bother at all if the club wants to hold out all the summer for the best possible manager they can find.

All they need to do is take it upon themselves to take the decision to renew contracts and sign players in the meantime and tell this new wonderful manager who they'll be working with.

Nathan Collins has gone to Burnley, Billy Gilmour is at Norwich... Doesn't matter if we appoint Sir Alex Ferguson if we haven't got any players.

As the poster said above, 'if they're any good, they'll have other options'. Same goes for players, and our current strategy means we haven't even joined the queue.
