If you watch the video of Vieiera taking training you will see quite a few of our juniors training in the first team squad. Scott Banks is back , Acki Raki and the big Irish lad. Amongst others. Worth a look over on the COFC website.

That's great to hear. Really excited to see what he can do. Could be a big player for us this season if they hype over him proves accurate.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

I said to my wife over a tipple the other night that in my humble opinion, Vieira will not last the entirety of his contract.
Either he will be a failure and be relieved of his duties or he will prove a real success and be prised away by a bigger club.
My instinct of course might be proved wrong.

If I said that to my wife at any time of day never mind over an evening drink she wouldn't have a 'Scooby Doo' what I was talking about.
She would certainly expect a higher level of topic of conversation than football especially whilst there is rather a lot of it on at the moment!!!

Your wife, Willo must either be deaf or possesses the uncanny skill of being able to totally ignore you without you knowing!!!

I have just checked the respective heights of the players.
Olise is 5ft 10ins and Vieira towers over him at 6ft 4ins.

Wow. I didn't realise that he was that tall. Thanks

It will be interesting to see how various players take to Vieira.
Sometimes players flourish under one manager but look poor or are not rated under another.
For example Mcarthur has generally been very good for us , but by his own admission it did not click with Allardyce.
Bakary Sako on the whole did not do well for us, but there was a brief spell when he looked one of our better players under Hodgson.
Can Vieira bring out the best in the likes of Jairo and Mateta?
Hopefully he’ll give players more of an opportunity than FDB who wanted to bomb out the likes of Delaney, Ward and Tomkins - all players who have outlasted FDB by a considerable distance.

I would love to listen to you two talking about that "higher level of topic".

Probably clothes, food, TV shows, or the neighbors' new kitchen?

My son met him when he was coaching NYC FC. He met all the players too, and he met a bunch of the Palace players about 5 years ago. He said Vieira was by far the most intimidating person he'd ever met.

I wonder what happens with Guita under Viera. I think his distribution is below average for a PL keeper. Is that unfair? If I’m right could Butland be a better shout? Assuming he’s got his mojo back.

I have wondered the same, love VG who is an excellent keeper but, from the little I saw if Butland last season, his distribution is of better quality

We're obviously thinking the same. I've posted a similar thought just now on the line-up thread before I got ti reading this thread.

Senor Guaita is a fine shot stopper and has made some stupendous saves but it is in the 'kicking' department that he can be found wanting.
Certainly not the best kicker of a ball in terms of distance and in this respect he resembles Rui Patricio.
Butland, although right-footed, gets good distance clearing with his left foot.
