The mickey mouse roller coaster on Clacton pier.
Went right out over the sea.
Wouldn't be allowed now I reckon.
I did go on the big one in Blackpool on our away day years ago. That is big.

Just to clarify.
Roller coasters etc are at theme parks etc.
Fun fairs travel from site to site.
Therefore Waltzer all day every day.

When I was in Oz I worked on a traveling funfair. I was on the Rolla coaster. We used to erect it and work for the week, then take it down and move to the next city. The breaches of health and safety would make most peoples eyes water. Great times, and some amazing, if not slightly illegal tales to tell.

It's true that I had the old travelling fairs in mind when I started the thread. But it's also what I meant about rides being more technically advanced today.

As stuckinbristol says, there are portable roller coasters now, particularly Mighty Mouse type. [Link]

And I understand the support for the Waltzer. Those bloomin' helpers made the car spin like crazy, particularly if you were with a girl.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

The big wheel with the eggshaped pods that turned upside down along with the Queen of hearts a big spinning wheel that made you stick the wall, great fun trying to turn upside down

the Scenic railway at Dreamland. or the teacup ride at Thorpe Park.

Roller-coasters give me the 5h1t5.
