It looks like we have a head start on other euro nations in doing this. I wonder why that is?

That appeared to be the case a few months ago, but looks much less true now. There will always be swings and roundabouts in the benefits and drawbacks involved in the best way to organise things. We won't really be able to fully judge until we look back in a year or two.

We aren't Switzerland, where they have a direct democracy. Our system is totally different.

It was a poor programme. I lasted 10 minutes and that was enough.

I see the same posters are back banging the remoaner drum. To be honest, leaving has done me no favours personally, however I’d still rather be out. I can see Europe having a very hard time of it over the next few years.

I’d love to know where their recovery package monies are coming from and how the poorer countries propose to pay it back.

I didn't see the programme - I won't watch it ever again.
The poorer countries can never pay back their debt which is why the EU loaned it to them so they can never leave the EU.

BTW, there should not be a second referendum. Votes counted, people spoke.

However, there should be a constant check on its effect on everyday lives. After all, if there are any negative impacts, should the government not be taking steps to address them?

The consensus among those Brexiteers posting on this thread is that there should be no such review as this would smack of back door Remainerism (sorry about that word). That can't be right or good.

And once again, we have posters doing the Remain/lefty thing which does not say much for the intelligence of those posters as those of socialist bent voted in their millions to leave.

The EU is not something that we should ever go back to.
We have left and having gone - still going - through a Pandemic we are doing okay.
Not perfect by any means - nothing ever will be sadly.
Everything will come out in the wash and we will thrive on our own - of that I feel sure.
The only Countries wealthy enough to leave the EU are Germany and France and they don't want to leave.
The rest are stuffed sadly for them.
The EU was set up primarily for Germany and secondly France and the rest were just meant to follow like sheep - which they and we did - whilst the big two screwed everyone.
We fought against them a lot over the years - we were the thorn in their side and now we have left them to it and they are not happy.
They would ruin their own economies if they thought it would ruin ours - they are that sad - France and Germany that is.
Germany have tried for 100 years to rule Europe and have failed at every turn until now - but it will be and should be - for ever - without us.
I am so pleased we left a class that wanted us to kowtow to their rules and regulations and run ourselves for their benefit.
Wonderful Countries, lovely people - dreadful ruling classes!

No. When we gave up our place at the table, we abandoned the opportunity to shape that.

This war has many fronts. The ultimate prize is a secure, happy and successful nation. The most urgent task is to overcome the pandemic and get the economy as functional as possible. That involves finding ways to mitigate the worst aspects of an unneeded and self-destructive Brexit. Then we must try to hold the Union together long enough for the prospect of us rejoining a reformed EU to defeat any future independence referendums.

Doing that whilst fighting the effects of climate change, social deprivation and a divided nation will keep minds occupied long after my lifetime.

I admire your staunch support but you are deluded.
We will never go back and if Scotland leave - let them go - they can't survive financially without our support.
I for one would be happy if I never say Ian Blackford ever again - him and his whining voice - t***!
In summary - I have to disagree with you.

Seeing Verstoffher and Dutch PM Rutte dancing a jig on leaving day I somehow think the UK is confused if it thinks that it divorced from the EU and not the other way round.

The short answer is 'Non' as General De Gaulle wisely said, now we know why.

TB says we would have to be transformed into a successful country to interest the EU again.

The demographics do support the end of the brexit generation but painfully slowly.

Surely we instigated the divorce didn’t we? EU didn’t ask us to go, we told them we were leaving
Nice to see you appear to be looking forward to people dying! Anything TB suggests would only ever involve feathering his own nest

There is no such thing as a brexit generation. There are sensible citizens and idiots. The sensible ones tend to be the older ones who truly understand what a Shiite show the EU truly is and yes they will die first but hopefully by then the people will all realise we didn’t need to be run by a bureaucracy sponsored primarily by Germany.

It’s down to everyone now to make it work. I appreciate you don’t seem to be too bothered, but hey I never expected you to.

Really? That much? That’s going to take at least until the weekend. Better get those sleeves rolled up.
How do you see the EU reforming itself? Hopefully for their sakes they end up with more than the 9 net contributors they currently have.

Really, we are 'citizens and idiots'.

No prizes for guessing which category you belong to.

I am not whining! You are. You are whining because I disagree with your attitude, which I find simplistic.

Brexit is done. I let it go a long time ago. Now we are dealing with the consequences, which show extremely clearly that no-one "won" anything. We are all losing. Now some, maybe you, think those losses are worth bearing. I don't, but they are there and must now be mitigated.

Let it go man. You lost, that’s fine. Now move on.

Yep, well at least 52% agree with me so I'll rest easy.
