I must be a culinary throwback. I might pass on the prawn cocktail (usually a bit tangy) but steak and chips is great and Black Forest gateau is just as nice as any of the options.
The Fat Duck or Berni Inn and £200 saved?

I find it easier to slit the chickens throat and save the blood, as I have 4 dogs and boil the blood in water, mix in with the rice, my dogs like.

If you let it go solid it must taste like black pudding. Have you tried it yourself as it sounds like it could be OK.

It's all coming back now, Homepride sweet and sour sauce, the Pilsbury dough men (?) and Vesta curries, back in the days when only Josh Ackland was allowed to do voice overs for commercials. When people accuse me of schadenfreud I like to reply that I prefer Liebfraumilch - you can use that line whenever you want, I'm not claiming copyright. And now the ads in cinemas for local businesses - you had your Pearl and Dean for Benson and Hedges and Kia Ora orange then the ultra low budget ads for local job agencies or crap restaurants ("this restaurant is so good even the chef eats here" I remember for a Greek Taverna back in Saint Reatham).

Enjoy this ...

Fun to see the Pearl and Dean cinema ads, thanks ex. Took me back to the Wallington Odeon and Sutton Granada where I remember seeing From Russia With Love when it first came out.

As for Chinese meal memories, I had my first in the Royal in George Street. They did a 3 choice set lunch for 3/6d. Sweet and sour grizzle and rice went down well as I recall.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
