Difficult to answer in these Covid times. Until we have our first PL home game, we won't really know how many fans will be turning up.

Let's for a moment imagine things go back to how they were. For most home games the attendance wasn't far short of capacity. However getting tickets, particularly if a member, was still quite possible as long as you applied as soon as they become available and didn't wait until a couple of days before the match.

Obviously some games are more appealing than others, e.g. Man Utd, Liverpool as opposed to Burnley and Southampton, and for the big name games you'd have to be pretty quick off the mark. Of course the other point is that if you buy on a match by match basis you are not going to be able to pick and choose where you will sit.

For what its worth I haven't had a season ticket for years, but I go fairly frequently. I often find that if I'm too late then there aren't any tickets, and that usually the only tickets available are restricted view ones (Holmesdale Upper corner usually). When I arrive I can sometimes move to better seats if they are empty after twenty minutes.

All of which suggests sell outs are (or were) common enough, even if not every season ticket holder turns up for every game.

Quite what the post-covid picture will be is of course unclear.

A gold membership should allow you to easily get a matchday ticket (was once two tickets but now back to one ticket per membership) as long as you don't wait around for days when they go on sale. Another thing to consider is that match tickets are sometimes bundled so for an 'A' match you may also need to purchase a 'B' match at the same time - even if you have a membership. Sometimes becomes expensive if their is a few of you going (family) and the reason you have memberships in the first place is you can't afford to go to all the games. For the four of us (two adults and two kids) it meant laying out around £240 or so at a time - it was not uncommon for two lots of bundled tickets to be released within days of each other - priced us our of going to some games - even if the games were weeks apart.

Oh it only gets you 1 ticket? That's a bit disappointing.
