I've seen several posts now about the owners funding this or that. They don't - they loan the club money through companies, and the club as a company has that debt. The way the debt is structured is the biggest part of the finances. Isn't basically every club in the world in debt? Especially the bigger clubs. The owners don't just donate millions from personal bank accounts and expect to never see it again. Any new buyers will have to buy the debts, at a profit to the companies that are owed them, and then the owners will take their dividends at a later date.

According to planet football - even the bottom club this year ( Sheffield United) took £91 Million from the football league ( + presumably parachute payments) so in that respect 30 million whilst its still a lot of money it would seem to be covered. Originally posted by palace99

You would think this would not be an issue however Palace has (had??) the highest wages to revenue % in the Prem so arguably this money is already earmarked. Clearly using next year's income to pay this years bills is not sustainable in the longer term.

If any accountants / legal bods are looking in could you please explain how an "advance under a funding agreement" can be secured without a charge being registered?
