Montpellier have just unveiled him as their new signing. Brings to an end an expensive lesson for us. Undoubtedly talented but too many mistakes for the price tag and salary.
"It's ok postman , he'll lick you to death" "That isn't really that comforting , I still end up dead !!" |

When we had him on loan was a fantastic signing, however very injury prone, I was always waiting for a costly mistake when he played, on his salary best gone. Good luck Mama and thanks.

Fantastic on loan. We then paid too much for him and matched his too high salary. Undoubtedly a brilliant player at times but not consistent enough for the money.
It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses. |

Shame he had the potential to be a 'Cult Hero' at Palace but turned out to be a Donkey

And cost over £30m in wages or £416,000 a game. Possibly the worst value player ever at Palace.

as others have stated, was great on loan but a bad signing thereafter.

Even if he'd stayed fit he'd have been hideously overpriced and overpaid. Like watching a man playing in a medieval suit of armour and rollerskates. Sakho represents a huge lesson learned, one which must not be forgotten. Mind you, I'm sure they said that at the end of the first world war.

Like many players who play a lot of football in their teens, he's burned out by his early 30s. Add Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney, Micah Richards & Cesc Fabregas to that list. Hopefully Clyne, Moses & Zaha don't go that way. James Milner a rare exception. I can't see this being good business for Montpellier, but good luck to them.

The dof and football club to extend its knowledge of players beyond a premier league catalogue?

Sakho, was a brilliant technical player , in his early mid twenties . And if he had not have burnt out as you say , would have been the class central defender that could have made us a much better side than we actually were in the last three years
