It looks like Hughes is signing, if he keeps to 4-3-3 that leaves Kouyate, Jairo, Gallagher, McArthur, Hughes, Luka, and possibly Eze for 3 places, which to me says Schlupp back to LB with Mitchell. Probably Olise wide and a New CF

would be a good signing if it happens.

experienced and good passer, well priced and decent age.

This is an absolutely astute signing. He is better than what we have in the middle, knows the English game, adds a lot of what we lack...

If Watford have loads better, good luck to them. A very Parish signing.

Apart from the odd sour grapes it seems most Watford fans rate him which is a good sign. Still only in his mid-twenties and can pass the ball, the latter point being the most important. I do wonder where this leaves Jairo though. I had hopes he would blossom under Vieira, but he seems to lack any sort of intensity and he didn't even start in the cup.

It was plain to see very early on that Jairo wasn't good enough and now a second manager has no faith in him. He may well be sent out on loan.

A few Watford fans saying they didn’t want him to go and saw him as potential captain.

Agreed , I think some times , the assessments people make of some of our players is based more in hope than fact..

Jairo's challenge is his athleticism. Both offensively and defensively, he just doesn't get around enough. If he fixed that he'd be world class.

I think a lot of people hoped a bit of a run and a manager's faith would see him show it. Sadly he's struggled.

This is a quality signing. I've been a bit perplexed at some of the reactions on here an wondered where else would we pick up a proven Premiership quality midfielder, still only 26 for £6m???...

He is certainly better than Kouyate and Jairo and a perfect replacement in time for MacArthur.

HUGHES AGREES PALACE DEAL

Crystal Palace have agreed a deal to sign Will Hughes from Watford.

It will be worth £10m including add-ons, with an initial £6m. A medical will take place tomorrow.

Crystal Palace will now target a striker, likely to be a Deadline Day signing.

Very good signing and another transfer whose value exceeds the fee we paid. Finally building squad value after years of declining.

Gallagher, McArthur and Hughes could be very decent midfield trio. All have a good engine with ability to break forward. Jairo, Kouyate and Luka could all struggle for game time this season.
