To me a good move even if only on loan. A year with a transition this big we need all the help we can get especially in midfield. I agree also that I think he suffered being at a meh West Brom last year so hoping for the best.

Yes but nowhere near enough IMO.
Kouyate-30 plus great a breaking up play and has legs but lacks quality.
Luka - looks like his legs have gone.
McArthur - great player but 34 and missed a lot of last season.
Jairo - nice touches, lacks intensity, too many safe or square / backwards passes, lacks courage and tires easily
Schlupp - long injuries last two seasons, good ball carrier lacks vision
Time will tell I guess

Good synopsis of our CM.

Welcome CG to CPFC! Could have had him last season but opted for michy at the last minute... Glad that's not soured his desire to come play for us and learn from the maestro box to box midfielder that is Monsieur Vieira !

That's what I saw last year. In Gallagher I see someone who lacks the best qualities of each of these players, but whose weaknesses are significantly less costly than the corresponding weaknesses in the others. Basically, as an all-round player, I think he may be more useful than any of them. Good deal, I predict.

If we play a higher line having a proper box to box midfielder will be vital as last year our midfield was painfully slow. I think he'll turn out to be a very good signing based on what I saw of him last season.

Gallagher will bring energy, tenacity and intensity and will pick up a flurry of 'Yellows' !
It has been commented that he needs to improve his stats in terms of goals and assists.
I do hope he does well.

Same thought as mine Willo, I too, fear he'll battle with Luka for the amount of cautions he'll collect, think it was 12 last season for WBA. Tho, tbf, a lot of those were chasing lost causes & 'youthful exuberance'. Hopefully, he's matured a bit more & wont be as reckless.

if we are being completely honest, he doesnt have to do much to surpass the current attacking output from our midfield of the past few years.
