Still another 31 days to go till the window ends, i think a lot will still happen , Ins an Outs

I'm not expecting much more movement for now. I think we have an eye on several players but only if the deal is right we may sign someone close to deadline day when their club realises they are not getting what they want for the player. I suspect we are waiting to see if City will deal on Morgan or if he is part of the exchange with Villa for Grealish.

Seriously, though you are probably right IMO. I doubt Olise will be available for the Chelsea game. As for Andersen, it depends on when he comes out of quarantine, but with just 2 weeks to go and the fact that he's just come from holiday after the Euros, I think it unlikely he will start against Chelsea.

I think there will be more movement than some think, Maybe one or some of Luka , Kouyate, Ayew or Benteke out, and maybe Forward player, Right back, and another Midfielder in, just have a feeling.

So how is the club doing so far this window? Dougie has come in for pelters in previous windows however I think it is clear that he and the manager simply did not have the money to acquire the players we wanted. So having very little money they were forced to "try it on" with low ball bids hoping the selling club was desperate or that we were the only game in town. I suspect this was why we kept being gazumped by West Ham and others. I think that this window has shown that given a reasonable budget we are able to complete with other clubs and land targets that they were after as well and well before the window closes. As I said in previous posts I suspect we have done the bulk of the business now we probably are looking for another loan but that may only happen if the player is not sold so chances are this will be late in the window if at all. How successful this window is remains to be seem just because you have the ingredients doesn't mean the souffle will rise. However in terms of landing our targets (execution) I think you would have to give DF and the club 9/10. COYP

There are still concerns about the strikers.

I am pleased with the business done in this window but I do feel we need to temper our expectations as fans. There is always the excitement of new signings and this leads us to imagining them to be `the answer`. they need time to bed in and adapt and that is doubly difficult with the weight of expectation we will put on them. We also have an unproven manager at this level and league. Just remember all those seasons when the likes of Everton or West Ham spent big and we all looked at who they were buying and kinda went `gulp` only to see the lots of signings fail to deliver. I know some will shoot me down for being a harbinger of doom. I don't think that is actually the case it's just that if we expect too much from PV and all the new signings that weight of expectation becomes self defeating. (One a side note the Sun is reporting we are looking at Matthew Garbett the 19 year old New Zealand striker at the Olympics so maybe he might relieve some of the striker concerns)

Just had another thought (Yup I know that's dangerous). The Mateta deal is we have to sign him after 15 PL club appearances from the start? Or at least that is the rumour. So far the jury is out unless there is a sudden improvement it is possible that we have to stop picking him as we don't want to buy that only leaves us with Benteke as a recognised striker. So we do need another striker just in case Mateta doesn't work out.

Transfer window or transfer windows? The winter break does conveniently fall when AFCON is at it's height but our thin squad will be positively anorexic when AFCON is on and given injuries we could be horribly short then. The winter window isn't normally a time you want to strengthen - though PvA Schlupp turned out to be a masterstroke - but there is perhaps something to be said for holding back a rainy day fund. Around then we should know whether Eze is going to contribute significantly this season and Ferguson will also be due. And we might be closer to a decision about the players who have just one more year to run on their contracts.
