Is it just me or can everyone else see the pieces falling into place? The oldest profession football club in the world (1861....look it up) with an uncontested huge catchment area of enormous potential talent now has a category 1 academy. Parish is a smart and well thought out businessman. Clearly he is successful but he also has luck. He didn't want to own a football club nor was the plan for super kev to send us into the Premiership just then. But it happened and man are we capitalising. That Academy is a game changer. We can make 100s of millions converting se London talent into cash or first team success. We don't need rich foreign owners as our wealth is us, our manor, our talent. I know we are in for a rollercoaster season. Bring it on! Roy did well to stabilise but it was done. The five transfers (so far) show our ambition. We known Vieira is a risk but his rep is not... I suspect Wilf will stay for this journey now but for a fantastic offer of Champions League cup. But that could even be us in a few years. So may I suggest, be even louder, even prouder. Be Palace.

Why wouldn't it? Even if you ignore the silliness of football clubs and their owners this is basically a money spinner. I always believe in the saying "follow the money". We have a footballer factory. Our club is no longer a yo-yo club (although this year could be trouble due to the rebuilding). The structure of the club is now so solid I have no fear about us bouncing back as we belong in the Premiership. I would have been embarrassed to say that during any of the Noades, Goldberg or Orange Clown eras.

Anyone who buys a footy club is probably doing it from the heart not brain. Unless you're oil rich and trying to put a veneer on it for all the personal and business reasons for which you might need to do that. I've been watching CP for over forty years. We've been fun for everyone. A pleasant diversion from the serious guys. Reminds me of Man City before they become what they are now, but we're even less serious. Being a fan is like watching your mate going out with the girl you fancy. You're powerless and needy. But here we are. Still powerless and needy but with a switched on chairman and that academy. I'm happy to accept that the happy ending ... Come on dream... Cpfc lifting the Champions League trophy...is a while off, or never. But I can see it's possible now. This isn't about survival now. Not about extinction. It's about the huge possibilities that are in front of us. Thanks for the stability Roy (genuine) but if you don't seek to grow, you eventually die. Let's go.
