Maybe it wasn't superior. And when he found that that was all he was going to get, he came back to Parish like the prodigal son, but unlike the latter was so far from being welcomed back that he was told to sling his hook.

Unlikely

Good luck, to him,. He wasn’t going to play regular with us and at his age. He needs to play as often as possible. Money may have been a problem, but playing time was a bigger one, sitting on the bench week in week out , wasn’t going to be any good to a player that still had a season or two in him. All the best Gary,

Wow, we must not have fancied him one little bit if Bournemouth's one-season offer in the Championship was superior to whatever Parish came up with, if anything.

i suspect the Palace offer was superior but based on a lower basic and higher play/win element. I suspect Bournemouth's offer is lower but the basic element may be higher.

Also at 35 maybe he knows he hasn't got the legs for the Prem. He also knows Parker so maybe that was a factor too.

Good luck to him
