We already have better centre half’s than Chambers and there are better and cheaper full back options out there so I’d say absolutely no way should we be considering Chambers.

CB agreed
RB huh?

Vieira's stated he wants to be able to play 3 CB. Currently we have Guehi, Tomkins, Andersen, Kelly, Kouyate which isn't huge cover, especially with Kouyate away for AFCON.

Chambers is out of contract at the end of this season and is believed to be available for <£10m. Chambers has played 150 games of Premier League football across 3 positions and we now have a fairly inexperienced defence.

Signing someone who can only play RB causes us an issue if Ferguson gets fit and suddenly we have 3. Someone who covers CB and RB is attractive.

Reminder that Matty Cash went to Villa for £16m, Norwich want £35m for Max Aarons...

Happy to hear of the clearly better options at a lower price than £10m, but to dismiss Chambers quite so strongly feels strange?

Huh meaning odd view. Another poster has answered but media suggesting Atal more likely.

BTW Chambers or Atal would push Kelly into long grass.

Well as you may remember I’d love nothing more that Kelly to get pushed into the long grass! Lol

From what Mitchell said in an interview recently, PV wants attacking full backs. Full backs that can bomb forward and join the attack. I don’t see Chambers as that sort of full back because as he’s matured he’s firmly become a centre back who can cover at full back but he certainly doesn’t come close to looking like a modern day full back. I just don’t see him being what we’d be looking for and quoting 10m for a player to cover right back seems a little extravagant for Palace when we’ve clearly got 1st team gaps to fill.

So yeah absolutely no to Chambers.

Mahlon Romeo of Millwall is a very energetic attacking right-back.
He has played further forward for Antigua and Barbuda.

We should be looking for full backs with abilities closer to Lamptey. So yes a player like this fits the bill Willo.

It’s just my opinion but I think others suggesting Chambers as a full back is a bit lazy. If we ever signed him it would be to play as a centre back…not a right back. Again just my opinion but why would Chambers want to come and play second fiddle to our current centre backs? Just pure fantasy.

He's the son of Jazzy B, just saying.

I'm not sure that that is praise.

My opinion is that Wenger was implying that Kolasinac is a determined and forceful player so not a negative at all.

Attacking right-back and certainly fleet of foot.
He is only 5ft 4in tall and Graeme Souness believes that because of his size he might get 'Pinned' by attackers, preventing him jumping to head the ball.

His preferred position is at centre-half but he has played at right-back and left-back, certainly when I saw him at right-back he looked a tad suspect in this position. He has also played in midfield, for Fulham, when he was at the club on loan.
He used to clean Rickie Lambert's boots at Southampton.

The Arsenal fans I know think he may well be the starting right back there this season as often as not.

That’s quite interesting considering he only got 10 games last season. Either he’s done really well in those 10 games or it’s a sign of how far Arsenal have fallen.
