Those makeovers must have looked very sh1t not long after, what with them made of MDF and bits of fabric

True, but to the eagle-eyed, they were 5hlt to start with. In a months time, they is shabby-5hlt.

Had lovely sausages in a roll with brown sauce and a cup of coffee from local cafe for £4.50. I even tipped the youngster £1.50 for bringing it out to me in the car.
I enjoy fine dining, but eating it regularly would dilute the experience for me, and is not financially sustainable on my earnings.

Covid has also made me wary of other people, and I much prefer cooking and eating at home, compared to the increased risk of eating with the wider public.

I've just done the opposite by renovating the family bathroom as I had the bath ripped out and a walk in shower installed which by all accounts will reduce the value of the house.

It's something to do with having a bath. Apparently out there, there are house buyers who always want a bath in the property. I think younger buyers are more into showers, but there is a sizable aged population who want/need a bath for mobility reasons

And it is easier/cheaper to install a shower/wetroom than it is to try and fit a bath in somewhere, once it has been ripped out. Plus baths need to be bigger these days for an increasingly obese population

sod the house valuation, do whats your fancy.
We have a bath is one of the bathrooms, I can honestly say it been used about 6 x in the 2 years since the bathroom was re-done.
All other bathrooms are walk in showers, its all we use & practical, very quick!

My wife is a "new build house" type of girl, she always has been, every house we have ever lived in since we were married (25 years ago) even when we rented overseas, we have been the first occupiers-

When there have been multiple bathrooms with the shower over the bath 100% we all use the shower.
