I would rather get on the plane to Spain and chuck in a weeks holiday for a tad more. Reminds me of Micky Flanaghans opinion on the English countryside. Hates it, smells of shyt, locals have never talked to a Londoner, but didn"t mind the cream tea-fifty seven quid!

A strange subject for the former on-field pugilist, painter & decorator and one-time Palace hat-trick hero to address!

I went in there once. It was like a Village People convention.

I bet it was. Want real Ireland, stay out of tourist traps.

why do they let chips go cold twice to then re-cook them ?

because it brings the potato starch to the outside of the chip, which is the part that goes crispy when cooked.

they are a pain in the arse to do, especially in large numbers, however they do taste amazing

I bought a Masterbuilt electric smoker a couple of months ago and hate it as the food tastes horrible. It never occurred to me that I may have different tastes to a fat Texan who is more interested in smothering the taste of the meat with a variety of herbs and spices.

I decided to cut my losses and tried to advertise it at half what I paid in Facebook Marketplace but their artificial intelligent moderator rejected my ad as they won't allow anything smoking related to be advertised on there.

Kerridge will clearly do anything for money. A champion of real ale and CAMRA yet the beer in his pubs is crap and he now does adverts for Stella.

The price of a steak though don't get worked up about it. Some mugs must pay it or he wouldn't sell it.

As others have said far better and cheaper places out there (Hawksmore for me,) and if all else fails Spoons has steak club every day now.

I had a lovely bit of fillet steak at a bistro in Whitby this week £32 with triple cooked chips, sauce and some nice saute veg.

Pricy bits of kit.

Mrs KD bought it for my 60th last year,SB.
it is certainly pricey but i'm a convert since ive been useing it.
Easy to light, easy to use after a little practice, gets up to nearly 800 F /400 C, so you get a proper steakhouse sear if you wish.
Pizza good also.
unless its pishing down, I use it 3-4 times a week, so a very average £8 bit of ribeye comes out like a £30 plus restuarant cut.
Obviously you can marinade or use rubs etc if thats your thing.

Sounds great King, if you or anyone needs a good chip tip, try lidls homestyle oven chips, you can fry them to, which is my option, and they come out great, best out there in my opinion, and at £1 a bag, its win win!
