Has this one slipped under the radar? Or is this non news?

The loan if this is to be believed is now a permanent signing.

Made the national news in Ireland. There's also an Irish u21 Aderamola or similar being spoken about from our youth. A left back I think. I was going to post about it but I'm away in Copenhagen visiting family. O'Brien is highly rated for a youngster. No fee has been mentioned but I saw the loan has become a permanent signing as you say. I suspect Cork City could do with the money. They're not a bad footballing side, although I don't think they're in the Premier, Division One I think.
I must have seen O'Brien play as I'm one of the few who goes to League of Ireland games. Reminds me of the Conference in England. That sounds bad but you get some very good semi pros who are happy at that level. There are some diamonds amongst the rough in Irish football. We must have a scout over here. An friend's nephew Goalie turned down a Palace contract. Pursuing Coaching instead.

Well it's non-news in that he played for our U23s last year (on loan) and has been part of our 1st team squad during pre-season. We've simply turned last years loan into a permanent deal

Yes

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

But still news in that he has passed the PV test I was thinking. As a only very occasional watcher of the youth groups I’ve no idea how good he is but the Irish market is an intriguing one - perhaps one of the few untapped frontiers out there

Damian Delaney now lives back in his native Cork and actually played a couple of seasons in League of Ireland after he left Palace. He may be doing a bit of scouting for DF alongside his media work.

IMO he is ahead of Rich-Baghuelou (Or Baggypants as he's been nicknamed). He did OK in the pre-season games he was in (apart from his rash sending off against Stevenage). Seems to have a good sense of positioning. I'm hopeful that he might develop into a 1st team squad player over the next couple of seasons.

It will be interesting to see which of our youngsters get loan options over the next week or so.

Defensively he may be better than RBL but RBL is better on the ball. A combination of the 2 and he may have stood a chance.
