I don't support what some in the crowd are said to have done.

I also don't support the hatred against Hungary from the liberal press and institutions in general.

Hungary wants to keep its culture and living spaces Hungarian and to do that it has to stay European. They look at us and know what they don't want.

It has my total support in that.

The football was just an annoying distraction.

I thought Stirling's provocative actions after his goal was idiotic. He could have caused big trouble.

This country might have surrendered itself to mass immigration, but Hungary obviously hasn't. It is therefore no surprise to anyone that the more unpleasant among their football support is prone to a bit of '70s style race taunting.
Our networks just love a bit of virtue signalling, even when it has nothing to do with this country. Maybe they will be happy when everyone over 30 with money has switched off.

You're perpetually aghast at any black individual with a view on race, but at the same time when there is clear racism shown towards them there is zero emotional response and it's just 'don't give them attention'. Consequently what you're essentially saying in that black people should endlessly put up with acts of racism and racist abuse, and never complain or address it in any way whatsoever. Indeed it's Sterlings 'provactive actions' that are a problem for you, as if he had it coming as response. People reeling off n words or monkey chants, not so much. You find that much easier to stomach. Probably because it's not aimed at you.

Lets be clear a lot of the hungarian supporters are idiots, but so is Stirling a it is an offence to remove your shirt, i actually think there is nothing wrong with that, but he knew it was his fellow players and almost definitely his manager knew what he was wearing and what might happen if he scored and knew it was an offence but he said b,,,,,,cks to the rules, stupid in such an atmosphere many may not have even known what was written on the shirt pathetic one minute look at us we are kneeling for black lives, but cobblers to rules, bunch of hypocrites

Yes, how dare someone make their feelings known around people known to perform nazi salutes, throw projectiles and address our black players like animals. Whatever comes his way was a good exchange in my view as it exposed large swathes of their fans for what they are, after they've been given countless chances to act with decency previously. But hey, at least you've made it clear who you're most offended by.

Typical response from “wokes” if someone does not 100% agree with you they are against you, no one is allowed a different point of view, if they do they must be racist, just listen to yourself, childish

This was in Hungary, a country with virtually no Black people.
It's all about context. A football crowd will try to antagonize the opposition, and race taunting clearly works when it comes to the English media. That said, we won 4-0, so how badly affected were the players? The media want to stoke it all up. If I was a player, I would reason that Hungary is not a particularly multicultural country and the taunting was inevitable.

I can't believe we are even talking about it.

The media only want to sell advertising to their target audience, the young and gullible. Thy will fill their minds with this crap until they are all brainwashed.

People need to focus on stuff that is more important.

You yourself go out of your way to talk about race whenever you can, and it's always from the position of 'who cares' when it's something grotesquely racist towards non whites, and your annoyance across the board is instead reserved for people actually defending themselves against such comments. As I say, one gets a shrug, the other gets the criticism.

I would agree that the media certainly make a meal out of these things, but considering the amount of warnings Hungary fans have had, and the consequences for the decent amongst them, they can hardly act like they have an excuse for this behaviour. People know how to behave and football is a global game so in my view monkey chants at black players cannot be treated as a nothing event in this day and age.

Instead of taking the knee the players would be better of forcing FIFA and UEFA to take stronger action.

This is the real issue, FIFA chose to ignore the UEFA punishment for previous infringements as it wasn't their competition, total nonsense.

The players (not just England) should threaten to boycott games unless FIFA and UEFA have joined up writing and implement each others punishments which should be serious not some silly fine or played behind closed doors with thousands of new recruited stewards and officials who all seem to be ultras.

Once it is in place the fans for those countries will soon realise how counter productive it is when they are banned from major competitions it what they did to us in the 1908's and it largely worked.

No, I comment on what is being constantly rammed down our throats by the media on a daily basis. That is what my annoyance is about.

I would imagine that Hungarian supporters would react to being berated by the British media in the same way that we would have in the 1960s. They don't have a constant banging of the race baiting drum there because they don't have many Black people. They don't give a toss what we think.

I don't approve of dumbasres making monkey noises, but I equally don't approve of the ridiculous over reaction to it.
I don't think I could be clearer.

Excellent post.

The idea that their society would be better off taking the path we took from the sixties is absurd....A cogent point - self harming isn't the half of it.

However, that isn't an excuse for racial abuse from crowds.

I’ve managed to avoid all of the media and ex pros trying to blame us for Hungarian fans again.

The way they behaved makes them look backward and reflects badly on them. This is especially true considering their form in this area and the fact that this was effectively 'the' opportunity to demonstrate a degree of entry level behaviour.

Most in the country won't care about how Hungary perceive our media calling out their monkey chants at fellow Englanders, because that's not really what's of note. HOL isn't the 'broad view' any more than the media is, and most ordinary people outside of it aren't factoring in a stance of Hungary being some kind of imagined white mans utopia that we must defend at all costs, when they hear our black countrymen being compared to animals.

While anyone can identify as what they like, let it be noted that the English are a recognised ethnic group. Indeed, the name itself is derived from the 'Angles' a Germanic tribe.

The English are a mix of people native to these islands for thousands of years and northern Europeans from the early to late medieval periods.

This is recognised as white (European) even by the UK government.

[Link]

Most non white people born in England refer to themselves as British because in their eyes calling themselves English denies their ancestral genetic origins.

This isn't of course completely cut and dried due to genetic mix and cultural belongings. In those cases the individual rightly can identify themselves.
