There�s a lot been said about PV introducing a � winning mentality � to the club. There�s also been a lot said in the past about Hodgson�s selections and general approach to cup competitions. PV appears to believe that the best way of winning games is by picking your strongest team. Difficult to argue with that philosophy. If that�s the way he indeed plays it tonight. I hope he plays the best team we have for 2 reasons: There were definitely positive signs against Brentford of a style of play emerging. It would be good to get some more time to practice that, and get some more minutes in CG and Benteke. I�m at peace with the fact that mid table is a realistic/optimistic aim. But every couple of years it would be great to have a bit of a cup run, so we need to get through the early rounds and then hope the draw opens up

I�m at peace with the fact that mid table is a realistic/optimistic aim. But every couple of years it would be great to have a bit of a cup run, so we need to get through the early rounds and then hope the draw opens up

Yep! The quicker the first team become comfortable with the new system, the better.
