One of the really good things over the last 2 games has been the defending of set pieces. Both Brentford and West Ham score a lot from set pieces and we have had a lot to deal with.
Good to see Mitchell pushing forward in second half and most players had good games. Could have won it towards the end with Guehi header and we finished both our last games strongly so fitness levels look good.

Agree. Schlupp on.

This is why I love Zaha.

No matter what everyone thinks he basically started the moves for both goals. His game awareness is far and above what most people understand. Not saying I fully do because I’m no pro, but playing semi-pro makes you appreciate how some players brains are laughably superior to the fan or person who has not played on a full size pitch against total athletes..

Without Zaha both goals do not happen.

And now I love Gallagher aswell just the midfielder we needed

Andersen is a classy player. Was fouled for WHs 2nd goal and the ball bounced favourably off the back of Antonio, so not sure he can be blamed.

West Ham would be better with a proper target man. Rice is seriously overrated. Coufal and Soucek have made a difference. No squad depth and resorted to kicking it long for Antonio whenthey ran out of ideas. Once his hamstring goes again, they will be back to normal.

One more thing... I had fogotten how bad the stadium, atmosphere and everything surrounding it really is. Walking half way across East London, being held in queues and then tramping through a packed shopping centre to get the train home is a complete joke. Imaging having to do that every other week. Feel desperately sorry for the fans and what SGB have done to their club. Still, if there was a more deserving set of fans for it to happen to I am yet to meet them. Karma!

I guess if your getting the stadium for free / at the taxpayers expense having the supporters put up with a bit of a rough journey is a small price to pay

was listening on TalkSport 2 and the commentator said it was Benteke with that header at the end, when in fact it was Guehi. On the Palace website highlights the commentator said it was Kouyate, before being corrected by the summariser a few minutes later. Surely it's not that difficult to tell the difference between big black fellas? The name and numbers on the back often help.

Who saw the palace fan try and charge the west ham end. Think they were throwing things and gesturing a lot and the lad just went for them he jumped the rail and very nearly got to them. The west ham fans went from gestures then noticed this guy was actually trying to get at them. Only when the stewards grabbed him they carried on.

I've played on a council pitch in my time and even I've had to complain. So I can understand.

The pitch was for both teams. The fact was what chances his team had they didn’t take, mainly because Palace, defended them well. It would seem the consensus of media, and punters had WH to win easy, I dare say Moyes as well. As it happened it was never easy, and because most ate humble pie, Any idea that Palace were the only reason WH didn’t win is, was ,will be dumbed down. Yer Palace had to get into top gear, WH are a very good side but on the day Palace we’re more than decent, long may it continue.

Having watched the full 90 minutes on Game of the Day on Sky last night I can understand why Clinton Morrison slated us off in the first half on Soccer Saturday.

The second half was almost miraculously different.

I thought Wilf played well, Ayew managed to keep possession, McArthur belied his age and Anderson impressed with his forward passing. Gallagher stole the show and has impressive energy (and skill).

My major reservation is with Kouyate. He can break up attacks but almost inevitably gives the ball away, he has no creative ability. Hopefully the introduction of Hughes may rectify this.

If we can find a maurauding striker (like Armstrong or Ings) combined with a playmaker in support we should progress.

Really? I thought he was absolute toilet again. Outpaced by Coufal.

You could say that about anyone who touched the ball in the build up then? Wilf had little to do with them. First goal was all about Guehi moving forward with purpose. And second was pure class from CG.
