I pay £25 per year, as do others, there are about 25-30 of us(a cpl deceased) this money goes towards the upkeep of HOL, thought you, as an ex-mod, would've known about that. I only joined up in December last year and hadn't realised there was a way to contribute towards upkeep of the site. But, 25 quid from 50 or so folk doesn't go far towards IT resources. On the 'Elite' page it says the site has recently been upgraded, so is it a regular refresh job? Is there a case for changing the structure?

Guntrisoft is the web master who does all the work along with Penge Eagle, perhaps a PM to them would be better directed.

There’s lots of regular posters so it would be easy to ask for a relatively small donation to keep the site operating. If all those donating knew they were being matched by others donating it might get commitment. You could have a list of members who’ve donated, but maybe that’s not such a good idea.

This is exactly how/why the 'Elite' membership of Hol was started - regular uses voluntarily paying £25 per year to support the site and server costs. The problem is that this site is very much Guntri & Penge Eagle's baby (Guntri is the webmaster and designer/ Penge content/editor) and he simply doesn't have the time to update, however much money gets put in the kitty - he does have a job that pays for his life,like the rest of us, and that, unsurprisingly is his priority. No good going to the club about this, BBS is the 'official' Palace fans forum, and Hol has always reveled in it's independence and freedom as the 'unofficial' one. It may be old and slow, but it's the Hol we all know and love: be very careful what you wish for if you want others to get involved!
