I think it's been excellent. Although in fairness to the past years under Roy, this is the first time we've suddenly had a ton of money to spend like a drunken sailor, so it's hard to compare.

If your budget is zero, it's hard to have a window where you sign a bunch of quality young players. But the players we did sign all seem to have some promise, and the deals were fair. The loan of CG was excellent too.

I wish we would have kept PVA for another year. I think he would have fit perfectly into PV's system.

2018 Jan. (Sako) Palace 1 - 0 Burnley
2019 May (Batshuayi, Batshuayi, OG, Van Aanholt, Townsend) Palace 5 - 3 Bournemouth
2020 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Newcastle

Overall a good window, just get a striker in and then an excellent window.

Good to see also a number of the deals done early in the window.

Ah yes, not sure how I forgot about Hennessey, I was watching for meteor showers the other day and thought I spotted something, but alas, it was only Hennessey's penalty kick still going.

I wonder how Montes will work out. Fingers crossed he is a Dougie diamond in the rough. Just saw he's on loan to Belgian First Division B Waasland-Beveren

very good window!
Will take time for everyone to settle.
hopefully OE purchase will go through.
I still feel we are lacking quality in the full back department, one injury to either one and we may struggle.
would like to give Adaromola a contract soon! he looks decent for what I have seen!

Given it sounds like we'll have Olise back in September and Eze is ahead of schedule, I don't think a wide player is too burning an issue. Would have been nice, but we could be quite comfortable prior to the next window opening.

Andersen and Guehi are excellent signings and a foundation for years to come. To sign 5 players (assuming Edouard) aged 26 or under for a total spend of ~£60m by finding those in a good position to leave is great work. Gallacher looks an excellent loan signing too, and possibly one we look to get our teeth into next summer.

Would have liked the business to be done a bit earlier, and we look a bit weak at full back, but 9/10 for me.

We've been spoiled. the club have come up with serious money to invest in the squad and all the signings have resale value.
Andros is a really nice guy and was a fan favourite BUT his goals and assists record over last 2 seasons wasn't good enough, so please stop moaning we haven't replaced him. We may have to 'limp' along without Olise and Eze for a while but in a couple of months Andros will be a distant memory.

I would rate the transfer window as the absolute minimum we had to do to give us a fighting chance of avoiding relegation.

Excellent window

Picking holes?

1. It was a shame that Southampton sold Ings which effectively priced us out of Armstrong who I suspect is the real deal and would have suited us perfectly. Let's hope Edouard come through.

2. Andros and - to a slightly lesser extent - Cahill signing back on would have given us greater depth and experience.

3. We appear to have a loan in hand. That looks bold given the shallow nature of the squad but could of course be handy come the winter window.

Its been a great window. And my didn't we need it. The management has (inadvertently?) played a blinder. We had far less competition than usual for mid-level players and sellers are in financially weak positions. And our new manager seems to have given us additional pulling power. We no longer have to target experienced journeymen, and overpay them to get them across the line, it seems.

I dont think we have any real gaps now. We have plenty of midfield attacking options, some young others injured but there is cover. And while everyone talks about Mitchell needing cover, we have Jairo and at a push Schlupp. For RB there's Clyne (ahem...Ferguson) Kelly, Tompkins.

9/10

Thought we got our business done pretty efficiently this time and that was one of the best aspects of the window. The Olise injury and quarantine delay for Andersen slightly disguise how quickly we moved.

Defo the quietest and least angst filled deadline day/week for ages. The only outstanding business was the striker and that was always going to be problematic to do early. There too we might have lucked out had Southampton not got the windfall that gave them Armstrong ahead of us.

There is some truth in that, but you have to take your hat off to Parish, and Dougie, for getting most of what’s needed to not only avoid relegation, but take the club forward . Let’s face it this window wasn’t completely about players, it was also very much about a manager, and a coaching group. If they had no money and messed up , relegation would have been a near certainty, it’s not now IMO.
It’s obvious now, they knew where the money was coming from and planned accordingly, the plan looks to be very near complete, I have doubted at times but I do take my hat off to to them.

There is the potential for a couple of coups here, at the last moment. Fingers crossed. Edouard will hopefully work out but if we got Boga or Mayoral as well. Well, you know. Probably dreaming.
