Watching Nuno looking entirely crestfallen after the Spurs game yesterday it's a reminder of how things could have been. I feel sorry for him, as it's a lonely place, but glad we didn't get him, and I'm happy to admit he was probably my second choice after Favre. I was a fool.

For what it's worth, I think with Roy, Nuno or Patrick in charge, we'd be in roughly the same place as we are now, maybe a place or two lower.

But there's no doubt that the parallel universe that has Vieira in charge is by far the most progressive and exciting to watch.

Cannot believe people were getting s***ty with him after the run of dropped points - regardless of how frustrating it was. We've come incredibly far in a short space of time, and more mistakes will be made. But the future is bright.

Vieira has been a total revelation.
He’s won nearly everything in the game and worked at the highest levels.
But he appears very humble and is calm and measured regardless of the result.
There is little evidence of ego with credit always given to others.
But there is the requisite toughness there which is necessary to be a top manager.
If you don’t do it in training or on on the field don’t expect to play.

I've heard he waits for 5 mins at half time to let the players have their spats then goes in. Good management as your best critic is yourself if truthful to it.

Does anyone know if he's still got us doing double sessions?

I think with Patrick in charge we'd be in exactly the same place as we are now! (??)

I wonder how many of the managers whose teams we played in our first nine matches are thankful that their matches were agaist a still warming up Palace?

So my big concern about Vieira -- or rather his management of this particular squad -- is that he is beasting them.

At the moment, his approach is working but maybe in Feb, the fatigue sets in, especially for the full backs, and Gallagher and McArthur.

This is a crazily high-energy approach.

The standout thing is how well Ward, Mitchell and McArthur are playing. They're like new players. Amazing.

Yes, shame about Nuno at Spurs - looks like a lucky escape for us.

If F Lucien Ferve hadn’t changed his mind we no doubt be in a very different place. I did not quite know what to expect when the club appointed PV.

Many fans from other clubs were having a dig at us about 4th choice, team falling apart relegation etc, humble pie springs to mind.

Perhaps some very exciting times could be looming on the horizon.

I think Vieira has his mind on players fatigue which is why he’s not rushing those from injury back too soon and those who have been on the bench getting too much playing time at this moment. Christmas games are close together so that will be interesting on how he picks the team.
