So basically you dislike someone because they are fat and they eat a lot. You potentially dislike hundreds of millions of human beings therefore.

yup.

(Actually, no. hes just annoying in general.
I'd like him if he was a funny , fat lad or not)

I wouldn't know what a paedophile looks like. I highly doubt they have an agreed uniform.

I'm saying that visually he has a Saville-like 'get up'. His own zany stand out look.

Hard to disagree with that. I think Ricky Gervais basically gets away with saying what he wants as he's clever with it, but most modern comedians are non starters.

That said the last comedian I saw and actually enjoyed was Lee Evans. Not really out to offend but a unique talent. Ideally it's better if people are generally talented rather than either seek or offend or not to offend (the latter often being the case). Case in point, though its fair to say that Bernard Manning could be deemed an old bigot, it is hard to deny his ability and amazing comic timing.

Yes, agree with this. Unfortunately for him, most agree with us and ticket sales so far have been very poor.

Great PR for him.

the Northern Circuit of English working men's clubs, in all the coal & steel towns....

RiP

should have been given Unesco cultural protection, brass bands and all that.

most of those towns have now been colonized from the Third World and have lost that quintessential essence they had in the lifetimes of many older Eagles on here. Colonized by groups with spectacular statistics for fertility & longterm unemployment.

no more space for working men's clubs or working men in a town full of unemployment. In the US , such towns would be let die naturally....not kept on the life-support of Social Welfare.

'Phoenix nights' was like their swan-song.

What is 'the woke comedy,'? Does it simply mean anyone who is not a white often middle aged man who makes mother in law jokes? I was not aware this was a comic genre. Comedy is a personal thing what I find funny is not what others may. The more radical comics of my youth are now staples of radio 4 (probably makes them 'woke' but they still make me laugh. The demise of working mens clubs is not just linked to the demise of the communities around them, it is also linked to the rise of alternatives like Wetherspoons who provided beer far cheaper and a move for some folks to go out less.

But it's an interesting debate

My take on it - He isnt to my taste so I wouldnt buy a ticket for it, but his act isnt breaking any laws so I'm sure his management will find another venue.

Maybe its a journalist friend doing him a favour to publicise his tour... no such thing as bad PR!

^^ nail on head

He is an unfunny fat northern pr1ck, but it's about freedom to choose.
Didn't see anyone complaining about the use of 'nlgg3r' in rap records of the 90's. And you still have the freedom to buy those today.

The thing which actually makes me feel sorry for him, and what annoys me the most about this is who the f*ck booked him in the first place?

Surely to God they must have known who he is, and what his routine consists of? If they didn't maybe they should check these things before hand? So some numpty speaks to his agent "Yes, we'd love to have Chubby Brown play at the town hall."

There's then a peasants revolt about it, then all of a sudden we get "his comedy isn't in-keeping with the councils policy on inclusivity" and they bin him off.

Well don't F&CKING BOOK HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE THEN!
