It was an assault and should have been a straight red.

I think it's fair to say the ensuing melee was 50/50 with Zaha and Tanganga equally culpable. So a yellow for that was fair. The foul, which was basically a high-speed shove to the face, was a yellow, minimum. So in retrospect, Zaha was due a yellow, and Tanganga two yellows for two offenses.

I did laugh when Zaha gives it large and then you can see him looking around for backup when Tanganga comes back at him guns blazing.

I'd like to hear what Moss would say if he watched the foul on replay. In real time it was merely a push, but on replay it was clearly a hard push to the head and neck.

It should have been an immediate red.

I also noticed that when Wilf was trying his best to gob off till he got a red card, it was the England captain, rather than our own, who was there to calm him down.

It's not the first time I've noticed that our own players seem to let him go off like a loose cannon. I might be getting my memories confused, but I recall that when he got the red vs Southampton, only Ayew was on hand to pacify. Everyone else just let him explode, with that knowing look to one another that he was 'going off again.'

Is he untouchable within the squad or just unapproachable when in one of his petulant moods?

It bugs me not just for the fact that he has no control over his emotions, but also that no one seems willing to confront him about it.

Luka used to do it all the time. Sign of great captaincy.

So excited about the performance. Can't remember when we so dominated against a top 6 team if ever. We have had wins against them but usually it was down to resolute defending riding our luck a bit and nicking a goal on the break. At 1/2 time was thinking we were the better team but it was still 0-0 and we had nothing to show for our efforts.
Second 1/2 was expecting Spurs would at least be on top for some of it but this was not the case and we dominated this 1/2 as well.
Although the breaks in the game went our way it was a very encouraging performance and looks like we have found ourselves a goal scorer.
Exciting times.

Found ourselves a goal scorer . I think the same was said about Mateta after he scored against Brighton .

This use of the hands in the game is beginning to border on ridiculous . In this case it was a two handed assault to the head, both hands delivered with force to Wilfs mouth, chin, and throat area.
In rugby you can not do that in a deliberate way. It would not qualify as a tackle in the first place, and a tackle can not be delivered to the head anyway. The Spurs ,player would have gone off in Rugby,
If football was not losing its way ,he should have gone there and then. As for Wilfs reaction, on this occasion anyone of spirit would have reacted . A lot of continental pro,s would have stayed down and highlighted what had actually happened to them.

A definite red and as others have said why was Wilf yellow carded and not Tanganga. On the advice of others I spent an open mouthed hour or so perusing their comments where I discovered that Wilf should have had a straight red and Jon Moss was very biased in our favour. In our worst days we have never been that biased.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Let's not hold anything back! Yes, it was only one game and Spurs (top team of the league), was lackluster. But we were all over them for most of the game.
One of many highlights, Edouard's first 28 seconds on his debut. Got into a tussle in the middle of the pitch. And as soon as he had lost his aerial battle (and Zaha winning the ball), the ex-Celtic man ran straight into the box and was seemingly waiting for the pass (from Wilf).
It came, one extra touch and wham - 2-0. If this had been Benteke, he would still be far away from the box.
Think we have a gem here - add to that Eze, and we are a team to reckon with.

Who remembers Chris Armstrong getting a double on his debut?

Yes, I still remember that big end-of-season win at home to Leicester 2 or 3 years ago. Wilf had got himself into the ref's bad books, totally wrongly in his opinion, and was clearly seething when the game restarted. First time he got the ball he took off down the left wing like a bat out of hell, a defender almost brought him to the ground, but he somehow got himself up, raced on, and put a perfect pass into the path of Andros, who duly scored. As the commentator said, you anger Zaha at your peril.

There wasn't enough in Tanganga's shove or reaction to make it a red.

On this occasion Wilf's response to Tanganga helped Tanganga lost his head and was sent of a couple of minutes later for a silly foul.

I didn't think the second challenged justified a yellow in isolation.

Other things that went out way were;

- Spur's didn't expect us to play like that. They would have expected us to put everyone behind the ball. Their back 4 would have been expecting lots of crosses into Benteke, bringing on Edouard allowed us to change that - not something they would have been prepared for.

- Harry Kane doesn't press well. This allowed us to pass out of the back.

Why not enjoy the moment without slagging off the previous manager.

Exactly, these phases of the club progression were at different times and under different circumstances, we would not be where we are without the dedication and hardwork put in by Roy which kept us in this league so that we can hopefully progress further and become a more progressive and establish PL club, still lots of work to do to achieve that goal and we all need to pull together!

Don't you just love some pundits/ Garth Crooks said in his column this morning that Palace would not have won if Spurs had kept 11 on the pitch. The way we were playing we would have won even if they had 12 on the pitch.
