The CPFC site states he is here on loan for the season, that was July.

Is there a reason posters are saying January, if so let's hear it.

Thy normally put a re-call clause in the loan watch Gilmour at Norwich, if he doesn't get game time they will recall him.

Hopefully the clause requires our agreement or Chelsea are happy to leave him with us for the duration.

It would be dumb of Chelsea to recall him in January, they're doing well so there should be no urgency recalling him, and doing so might stagger his progress as he's playing the best football he ever has and pulling him out midseason could affect that form.

I expect him to go back at the end of the season, then a couple months of will we wont we be able to get him back, then a statement saying he wont be coming back and a search for a replacement. (whoever that may be we can't compare them to Galla, it just wouldn't be fair)

I would be surprised if there wasn't a recall clause in the loan agreement especially given how little time we gave to Batshuayi last year. Having said that Chelsea have no real need to recall him. He's flourishing with us and should be better placed to break into the Chelsea team if he stays with us.

Gallagher is fantastic for us, he goes for every ball, second bounce, you name it.. for us, that's a breathe of fresh air and just what you want from a mid table team looking to push on.
Chelsea however, with who they want moving forward and how they play, will he be a starter? I don't think he will be, this isn't to say he isn't good enough, he's just a very different player. It's like Moritz, fan fav for us, we all wanted him to stay and felt he could have done a job, then he left and it all fizzled away - not saying this will be CG at Chelsea, but I just feel he suits us more... it's lightning in a bottle right now so let's enjoy him for as long as we can... he deserves a crack at Chelsea if that's what he wants but god forbid it ruins him...

I 100% agree with this. I love Gallagher, but it's easier to be a standout player for us than it is to be a starter for Chelsea.

I compare Gallagher to Wan-Bissaka, who was a superstar for us, and now Man U fans don't think he's good enough to start for them.

Or Wilf, who is crucial to us, and would likely be a bench player for the top teams.

This takes nothing away from Gallagher, but there's a difference between being a very good PL player, and beating out some of the best players in the world to get into the starting lineup of a top 6 team.

If we are willing to pay, and include a sell on clause, I almost guarantee Chelsea would sell Gallagher.

Just to be clear I said there was more chance of a recall in Jan than us buying him on a perm i.e. the difference between vanishingly slim and no chance.

That was, I suspect, too pessimistic.

BTW, Tuchel has been asked directly on the point and rubbished the idea of a Jan recall.

Rumours on Twitter from a few verified accounts that he's being promoted to the senior side for the San Marino fixture and will be announced tomorrow (Sunday). Interesting to see if it proved correct.

Just been announced on the club website that he has indeed been called up for the senior team for Mondays game against San Marino -
As we previously mentioned - its extremely unlikely that he would have got that chance as a sub at his parent club.

It’s been a good move for him and us, last year at WBA he was thwarted by the sacking of Slaven Bilic and he pretty much disappeared under fat Sam’s appointment.

This time around he has thrived with us, but say if he had gone on loan to Newcastle or Norwich would he be in the spotlight as much, I doubt it?

We kick started Loftus Cheeks career and we have elevated Gallagher’s profile 100%. When all is said and done he is just a very talented, hard working footballer who blends perfectly into our team.
