No connection at all, and according to boris, "THERE IS NO PROBLEM-WE HAVE ENOUGH FUEL IN THE COUNTRY!"I know this may annoy the worker bees driving around for hours , looking for a fuel station open, when you should be in bed zzzzzzzzz, but just say these words to placate your angst- "THERE IS NO PROBLEM, WE HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH FUEL IN THE COUNTRY!" That should work, very wise words boris, very wise words!

There wouldn't have been a problem if the BBC hadn't manufactured one

The police have been shamefully invisible during this and unless they Marshall this, it ain’t happening. Too busy with unicorns on cars and sorting out costumes for the next in trend protest.

not sure what they are supposed to do. Who are they to Decide who needs fuel and who doesn't?
Managing traffic is one thing, but stopping nobbers panic buying is another.
All the Vox-Poppers on TV bemoaning the panic buying whilst sitting in the Queue for a petrol station do make me laugh, though.

Amen to that. Although not sure if singling out the BBC is necessary. Surely other media is just as guilty...

In case anyone's interested, I drove past the petrol station opposite the big TV mast at Crystal Palace at around 3.30 yesterday afternoon, and it looked like a normal day: three cars filling up and no queue.

BP putting out that they were going to close some stations didn’t help. Their petrol stations at Pease Pottage and Clackett Lane have fuel but interestingly the price is rapidly going up.... mm I wonder?

Out here in the sticks (where most people actually do need a car) they have imposed a £20 or £30 limit per vehicle.

Suddenly there is no shortage and everyone's getting to work on time.

Unfortunately I don't have enough in the tank to go over the moon to fill up.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Panic buying, whatever happened to the stiff upper lip and make do and mend attitude.

I feel sorry for anyone who works on a forecourt or drives for a living, too many idiots out there.

As for priority workers nice idea not very realistic.

Who should get priority a GP or a traveling salesman. The GP? Yup if he makes home visits but if he refuses to see patients face to face no, well how do you identify that?

No if we all calm down the problem will go away.

Seems like it's been a bit overblown to me. I've gone across the country from Sommerset to East Yorkshire for a variety of reasons over the last few days, but I couldn't back out of any commitments.

Had to fill up 3 times. On my travels I've kept an eye out for petrol stations with small queues from the point where I've started to drop below half a tank. Normally I'd have only gone on the look out when I had around quarter of a tank.

I went into one forecourt that was empty. Only had to que behind 1 car the 3 times I got fuel. The biggest delay was down to some t*** doing a weekly shop at a garage in Lincolnshire.

Drove past a fair few with long queues, but if you're savvy then most people could avoid long waits.

A lot of families have cut down on a few events and gone down to one car.

It's a hindrance for a few days but not really a crisis.

Which is what they should do. Did it in 2001 or whenever it was. Nobody went without and queues moved quicker
