It's extremely refreshing to see how positive and effective Vieira's subs have been so far this season. That's two goals from substitutes today following Edoaurd's brace a couple of weeks ago.

Perhaps it isn't completely fair to compare PV's subs to RH's as we definitely have a far stronger bench this season. However, it's great actually seeing some changes early in the half rather than waiting until the 80th minute or later as we're used to.

Another example, 2-2 today and he brings on Benteke to chase the game. Last season we would have brought on a defender or DM to try and see out the draw. Long may it continue.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Yep, agree totally. Just written similar in the match thread.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

The fact that PV isn't afraid to pull off the likes of Edouarde, Luka, Gallagher etc means he is building a squad that will fight for places and for each other. Proper man management. Hughes will get his chance and Olise will be starting very soon.

Exciting times.

Definitely the subs over the last couple of games have been spot not least today.

There was an argument however that Ayew should have been dropped for this game and ironically Olise or Schlupp starting instead.

The biggest positive was that he didn't waste time in taking Ayew off for Olise around the 52mins mark

All our substitutes had their chances. Two of them took it well, while the third one still could not find the net..
Add to that - Olise is pure class! His passing, his crosses, and the way he keeps the ball - a huge upgrade on Jordan A.

Definitely? What did the subs achieve against Brighton?

There was a "that's enough" moment from Veira just after Ayew had fluffed another shot.

He immediately turned to the bench to make the change.

I'm so Palace I don't even know it
