What any player joining Newcastle must consider is over the next 3-5 years how much game time will they get? I can't see top top players wanting to sign for them in January and face a survival battle. They may sign some very good players but based on what we have seen on the Manc clubs and Chelsea so many players end up warming the bench and play in the Caravan Cup. It will take 3-5 years before Top players start to sign but they may pick up some great players coming to the end of their careers. Gallagher is a possibility though if any new manager fancies him but that puts Willocks nose out of joint.

Is it just me or would anyone else like to see Bruce sacked, Newcastle flapping until the January transfer window, paying top money for 'past-it' players and ending up relegated for at least one season. I would love it :-)

It would be funny but you can't really blame them for sacking Bruce, they're OK but would think there are plenty of managers who would do a better job.
What I would suspect though, is that they should go for someone who'd keep them up: Pulis, Allardyce, maybe even Roy. They, however, will want a big name - how will that work in a relegation battle?
If they want to be clever about it, they should do something like double the win bonus for players, and put in a massive "avoid relegation" bonus for the whole squad and coaching team.
Rather cynically, watch them run around giving it their all then.

As for buying players, I hope we keep Zaha. He's like a Rolls Royce of a player for us now, when he used to be a Ferrari. He's cleverer now, and is still just about our best player. Talisman even. I don't want to see him at Newcastle. Although, I'd almost take St Maximum in some kind of exchange deal. That would soften the blow.
They can have Ramsey and Wilshere.

They look pretty crap at the moment and hopefully they waste a lot of money in January buying overpriced dross and still get relegated. With or without Bruce, I don’t care.

Spot on, my concern is they were relegation candidates, but come January they will invest heavily, paying top wages and players will go there. We always seemed to finish within 2 places of Newcastle, they will now take off, the Saudis won't accept mediocrity.
