I doubt it'll make much difference tbf. Unless they have a permanant manager in by Saturday it'll be same sh*t under the caretaker manager.

Agree, I think this is the team we are going to take out all the frustrations out on.

On the other hand if this fella plays.

I'm so Palace I don't even know it

So this weekend we play NUFC off the park, by the following weekend PV is their new manager.

Could only happen to Palace.

(Obviously this is a bit "tongue in cheek" but its not completely beyond the realms of possibility)

Julio was a wonderful player.

Apparently some lacky assistant coach is in charge for them on Saturday, learnt the trade under John Carver so should be sufficiently rubbish enough for a home win.

“I’m trying to imagine what it must be like to be Jamal Khashoggi’s widow, when her husband has been chopped up and murdered…. and she sees numpties dancing around in cod-Arabic dresses outside Newcastle United.'

Jones is in charge for Saturday, he's the coach that was drafted into Southgate's England setup for the Euros. Seems well regarded, didn't do well at Luton mind you. I'd be surprised if he's got enough about him to avoid defeat against you lot the way Vieira has you playing.

The team should play better without the millstone of Bruce lifted off them. Rumours that Paolo Fonseca will take over and he's a good coach, so I'd hope to see some better football than we've endured for the past 2 years.

As long as we're still in touch with survival in January I think the new recruits + better coaching should have us safe. We're apparently not going to spend the £200m that we could without falling foul of FFP, but we've space in the squad, and the budget to significantly improve the defence and midfield.

Interesting that Emery has walked away from the Newcastle job after they thought his employment was a done deal. Something inherently wrong there. Emery says they have no clear future plan or objectives.

Now they're talking to Eddie Howe. To my mind he just doesn't seem the right profile - not tough enough. It's going to be a brave man to take on the mess that is Newcastle United FC.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Interesting indeed. Newcastle are in a relegation scrap and I don't think Howe is the man to solve that problem. He looked shell shocked at Bournemouth.

It might be better to hire a relegation expert like Fireman Sam or Roy to the end of the season and then take stock.

Anyway let's hope they waste lots of money.

And lots of time, lol, in the championship. Even louder laughs out loud.

It sounds like there aren’t any football people anywhere near the decisions. Or they’re ignored if they are. Long may it continue.

Newcastles new owners don’t appear to have any football background, just money. A top football manager isn’t going to go there for 2-3 years. They need a patsy to start off, ideal for Howe, who specialises in relegation.

Think Howe is a decent fit for them actually - better than Emery.

He bought very well mostly - and very expensively- at Bournemouth. He's way more familiar with the transfer market here than the other contenders. The only way they are staying up is if they get the right pros in in January. That for me means buying the right sort of PL experience.

Personally think they're doomed as it's a strong league this year - the strongest I can remember. Theoretically they could get 25-30 points in the second half of the season as the likes of Pulis, Allardyce and Pardew managed after a reboot. Those were different times though. Very few soft 3 points on offer home or away and real strength all the way down to 16/17.
