There were supposed to be five minutes added time and he blew for fulltime after four and a half - despite the Newc time-wasting. He was seriously crap referee who was making decisions at random.

If PV and his team look at the replay of this game and see the stats, surely he'll make adjustments. I still have faith. I'm bitterly disappointed today - 3 shots on target. We do look a bit sh1te in the final quarter. We shouldn't; we have skillful forwards but no-one with that aggression and confidence of an in form striker.
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

Have read some headlines that Wilson 'earnt' Newcastle a point. Newcastle didn't earn anything, we threw it away (yet again) Time for the players to start taking some responsibility, you can't blame PV for a litany of stupid errors or lapses in concentration that are robbing us of much deserved victories. We could, and should have won the last 4 at a canter, such has been the level of performance. Really frustrating given its unlikely we'll get anything against Man City next weekend. On the other hand - we’ve only lost twice this season - away to the top 2. Olise’s first ever start, a young ish backline and Eze to come back in. We’re a work in progress. Next 10 games are the ones to judge on.

So frustrating yet again. We’re playing decent football and a win today would’ve gone a long way to dull the pain from mid-week but ultimately today, two absolutely guilt edge missed chances cost us dear Newcastle were poor and we HAVE to be winning games like that, especially at home!

So pleased for Benteke with his goal, but how did he miss that chance when he was one on one

Boy oh boy, that was hard to watch. We play some fine football, but too much fannying about in front of our own goal. I was really fearful that we'd lose it in the dying seconds again. I have never been Benteke's number one fan, but I was beginning to warm to him. Trouble is, he misses too many clear chances. Unfortunately today he was let down by Guehi's moment of madness. I'm sorry, but Luka has had it as far as I'm concerned. He used to be a good crosser of the ball. Not any more. Edouard could be better and maybe PV will knock him into shape, but sometimes goes it alone when a pass would be more fruitful. Last season we might have been reasonably satisfied with a draw, but today's result feels more like a loss.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

In a few years time, when Newcastle have extended their stands to an 80000 capacity, and are epl champions, if not European champions, we will look on this and say-imagine, Newcastle came to selhurst and were timewasting to get away with a draw-those were the days!
