So in summary,
We now have two brilliant centrebacks who cannot defend corners.
With a fully fit squad and 50 million pounds of new players, if Roy was still the manager we would be in the relegation zone.
It doesn't matter what substitutes PV uses as long as he uses them and we can all complain about what Roy used to do.
One win in 10 games this season shows just how brilliant we are playing.

So, I apologise for that, but please can we just move on from Roy Hodgson and concentrate on what we have now.

I am really worried that we cannot win when playing well. What will happen when performances slip a bit and when we get a few injuries. I'm a Palace fan and I remain worried about our chances this year.

We will finish easily in the top ten, try and enjoy the entertainment.

You have to let the past go, it is now that matters and it is now that he appears much more confident and a real goal threat.

Unfortunately the first headed miss, where he was right in front of goal, centrally, and yet somehow managed only to hit the post, added to the woefully inept one on one miss whereby he didn't even hit the target, were classic Benteke. This game should have been over and done with, 3 points in the bag. These weren't half chances.
This sort of glaring ineptitude in key moments will give PV something to ponder in time for the next game.

That’s a bold statement when we’ve won 1 game this season.

I like the way we are playing, but ‘easily top ten?’
Don’t think so.

After spending £80m we have fewer points than we had at the same stage last season.
With Man City next up we could very likely be just two points from the bottom three, we seem to be going backwards, sleepwalking in to a relegation battle.

For some reason many fans disrespect the work Ayew does, I think he is vital and today we missed him hugely, Benteke should've scored the through ball for the one on one and that would've seen Newcastle off, his other chances were dealt with through bad luck and good defending but he is massively improved, he was absolutely immense during a period after he scored in which he had the crowd gasping with excitement with a turn and a brilliant dummy, he is appearing as he once was.

Ayew doesn't score goals, he doesn't create goals. Therefore by the definition of a winger he is useless....sorry but its true and his place is rightfully behind Olise for now.

We're playing well, but struggling to keep a clean sheet and struggling to kill off games. A good recipe for getting a lot of draws but I'm confident we'll get there eventually. It's definatly more entertaining to watch which is a bonus!

I’m disappointed we yet again didn’t get what we deserved today - but I am LOVING the way we play. Great to watch and on another day we’d have comfortably have won.

I thought Benteke tried really hard today and played well - but we all know if we are missing a killer instinct in front of goal Benteke is not the answer. It’s a shame really as his overall contribution has been good.

Edouard over Benteke every time for me - goal scoring striker trumps one that misses so many chances a game!

I prefer to view it as 'we have 3 more points than in the corresponding fixtures last season'. It is acknowledged that we had the toughest opening 10 fixtures this season. Many fans feared we would actually be in the relegation zone after those 10 games.

I don't see us sleepwalking into a relegation battle just yet but if we fail to take advantage of our fixture programme in November and December then I might have to revise that comment.

Well that felt like a loss and honestly, now we could easily be 8 points better off than we are.
Bentekes header goes in and we are home and dry.
Great to see a team attacking though and still going for it at the end. When we start taking our chances we are going to be a force to be reckoned with

Benteke had a great game apart from that bad miss.

We still don't create enough clear cut chances despite tons of possession, but he could have had a hatful today.

I thought we did everything today except get all the points, but it's hard to stop good strikers and Callum Wilson was always likely to score.

We must start picking up wins very soon. Sadly, it won't be next week.

First 10 games and 9 points. Rather than look at the beginning of last season let's try looking at the end, and where we were immediately before Vieira's appointment.
10 games and 10 points.
Are we really sleepwalking into a relegation battle or are we a team in transition that is finally playing some halfway decent football with a bit more enthusiasm and spirit? Are we making stupid errors? Yes, but wtf was so impressive about the last ten games under Hodgson. Let's see how things are by Christmas, we'll have a clearer picture over whether we really are incapable of going ninety minutes without screwing ourselves over. Today's result had as much to do with inept refereeing as anything else, but remains frustrating. This will hopefully even out across a season. Two defeats in ten? I'll take that, and for now, remain optimistic.
