I confess that I don't know much about this as I pretty much stopped taking a detailed interest in cricket when it disappeared from terrestrial TV. Anyway, can anyone "in the know" explain why the draw appears to be so biased? Group 1 consists of 6 leading cricketing nations (Bangladesh is perhaps "debatable" ) whereas Group 2 boasts Scotland, Namibia and Afghanistan alongside India, pakistan and New Zealand. With only 2 teams progressing from each group, those in Group 1 will have their work cut out.

There were some that already qualified through world ranking. The others played a qualifying group last week. The bottom two of each group you listed, qualified through that.
For 20/20, off of the top of my head, India are probably the current best - perhaps followed by NZ and England, maybe Australia.
In 20/20 pakistan aren't a top, top side if you see what I mean, nor are South Africa for example. In fact, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are not bad at 20/20. Scotland the biggest over achievers so far.
I hope that helps somewhat, I'd say group 1 slightly harder than 2 but 2 has both NZ and India - two potential champs. Favourites for group 1 will be England.

A competition to find out who is the worst side at batting in the world.

Glad to see Mills getting a couple of wickets. Before his injury problems he was a real prospect and properly fast.

I would like to amend my comments about the batting?

pakistan just smashed India 152-0, first time ever in a World Cup.

What's the 'first' here? First 10-wicket win? First pakistan win over India? (etc). Cheers.

First time pakistan have beaten India in a world cup match.

Surprising, as pakistan are often a tough proposition.

There are two pakistan teams. One is a world beater and the other plays like amateurs. It looks like it might be the former turning up at this World Cup
