As great as he was for us, Wan Bissaka did seem a slightly odd choice for Man U. His predominant strength is defending and his tackling is excellent. But going forward he always looked less assured yet teams like Man U were always going to want a full back who would attack well. Exactly what I thought, and excellent back foot defender. Fast and a great tackler. Great when you are out of position for most of the game. Not great with the ball. Thought it was an odd signing at the time, but at that point in time I think Utd just wanted to bring in some defensive rigidity.

The way they are playing currently, Lindeloff has always had a soft-centre and Maguire is shockingly out of form and currently too slow (I think carrying an injury). A back 3 of AWB, Varane and Baily suddenly looks a lot more intidmiating and allows a much higher line with AWB's recovery pace and long stretching tackles. Then you can play Sancho etc on the right (that 70mil signing they've forgotten about) and AWB is purely focussed on defending. No I don't think I could be a football manager or could do better than Ole in real life. However, the suggestions I've made are at least a proper tactical way of looking at things and even if they don't work got to be worth a try. He cost 55mil and looks like a fish out of water at attacking Right Back.

AWB is way and above the best right back Palace have ever had. He was a right winger at one time and his ball control points to this.

AWB should have stayed one more season, it should have been Zaha going that summer, most of us ere expecting it and not expecting the aw move, but could parish have handled both players leaving? The money would have been great, for a while, but was Hodgson the man to spend it wisely. It would be interesting to hear - with hindsight what AWB made of it all, down the line..

Souness and Richards arguing about why AWB didn’t close down and stop the cross for City’s second goal. Both correct. AWB is quick enough and good enough to stop that cross but he was clearly in 2 minds. Utd keep changing formation at the back and the lad doesn’t know if he’s coming ir going. They’re ruining the lad.

Dont be silly , the best was the lad that went on to get 14 England caps thats currently warming our bench . AWB is miles away from getting one . Decent in a crap team defending for their lives but the best rb we ever had ? Not even close .

Unfortunately for AWB he is getting scapegoated at Man Utd because he is not getting helped out by Maguire and the rest of the shambles. Whoever thought Maguire was worth 80 million needs their heads looking at. He was s***e at Hull and s***e at Leicester. Wilf had him on toast in every game.
