Lampard an interesting one. I could never work out if he turned us down, we turned him down or we didn’t approach him?

I find this interesting if he takes the Norwich job. He obviously didn't fancy the project with us, perhaps he didn't trust his skills with a rebuild job. If he takes Norwich on, does that mean he sees more potential in them than us, or do you think FOMO is setting in and he's worried about missing out on top-tier jobs. Maybe he's thinking about it more from the pov of managing them in the Championship.

I was thinking Villa could be a match where we bang in quite a few. Not so sure now.
Mind you I suppose there are no easy games anymore. It’s all so close. Still, we are winning on our own merits.

Not sure why Newcastle didn't make a move for Gerrard, I thought he'd be a better bet there than Howe.

As for Lampard, I'm like Helmet 46, in that it was never clear where he stood with us, or us with him. Whatever may have happened, I don't think he sees Norwich (assuming he ends up there) as a bigger cub than us, I just think he sees them as his last hope for a decent job this year. In other words he's getting desperate.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

He may find himself on the shelf soon. I don't see many big clubs wanting to employ him so its the bottom half of the PL but if he wants a big transfer budget that's not going to happen.

I was originally in favour of Lampard for us.

My reading of it is he felt it was a risk and would look bad on his CV if he failed. A bit cowardly really but very glad we got PV instead. His man management skills alone are miles ahead of anything Lampard would have brought to the club.

Norwich is a funny one. Actually if he had taken the job and saved them from relegation he would have been seen as a miracle worker and his managerial stock would have been sky high - cue better job.

If he had failed and they were relegated everyone would have said it was inevitable and not his fault.

If I was Lampard I would have wanted Norwich.

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.

Uncle Arry was on talksport the morning Lampard pulled out. He was on there as Lampard at the time was looking like the position was his.

A question put to him was would Frank look at managing Rangers?

From his response it sounded like that could be a possibility.

Then later that day - Lampard pulled out of managing Norwich .

I won’t be surprised if he has talks with Rangers.

I see Dwight Yorke applied for the Villa job and moaned he didn't get a response.

Whilst Yorke got his coaching badge in 2010 as far as I can tell from Wiki he's never actually had a coaching job. Does he honestly think that Villa are going to give it to him?

Besides I would question the judgement of any man whose been with Katie price.
