The UK is a series of economic own goals.

Same old tory medecine.

They could tax wealth and not punish work, of course.

All pain and no gain.

So what are the alternative solutions Steeleye and who would offer them? Anything based in truth and beyond 'do the opposite' would be helpful alongside the operational technicalities?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

'Tory rebel Esther McVey fumes Jeremy Hunt could have 'put final nail in election hopes'.

Scrapping HS2 would have done it.

You hit it on the head when you said who would offer them.

Really depressing out of touch political system.

Scrapping HS2 would certainly have been a start.

Your last line resonates well with me.

I think she's spot on, with the diagnosis of the Tory party to the possible outcomes and solutions going forward.

I initially thought she’d go off on some strange twitter type ramble. But she did get my attention more when she said the Tory party currently doesn’t care about small to medium sized businesses. Did she say WEF, waif o wife?

I heard Ken Clarke earlier saying that Thatcher initially raised taxes, unlike Liz. He also said that unfortunately the days of very low taxes are behind us with the ageing population, and consequently more resources and money needed in the NHS. Hard to say he doesn’t have a point.

Plus I’m not sure that raising the retirement age is going to work. Then there will be automation and probably UBI. Could be a really sh1t century, let alone decade. At least we’ve reduced and destroyed the police ‘service’ so the many turning to crime will outnumber the police even more.

I liked everything she said....she spoke about globalists so you can be assured it's WEF.

Personally, I'm currently of the view that there will be financial collapse, far worse than 2008, before the end of the decade.

What comes after that is hard to say.

You would think that though wouldn't you!

You are as big a conspiracy theorist as she obviously is, seeing reds under the bed and Tory politicians planning their party's demise for their own benefit.

Your persistent nonsense about "globalists" and the "WEF" never fails to make me smile. I was listening to a Radio 4 programme earlier which made the same point I have often done. Which is that the glaring failure of almost every conspiracy theory is that there would need to be an army of conspirators all sworn to secrecy for it to work, without one investigative journalist turning up a whistle-blower.

By all means let's have a Farage led party which can represent these kind of views. It will probably get a little more support than the Monster Raving Loonies. It might even be able to participate in a coalition from time to time, but be anything more than a noisy fringe, as now, no chance.

Are you losing your marbles?

Perhaps your love of making general points with no specifics is so you can escape the obvious flaws within your commentary.

For example, what fecking conspiracy theory? The WEF isn't a 'conspiracy theory', 'globalism' isn't a conspiracy theory.

What are you even talking about?

In terms of what she said about the Tories and the future, it's literally her opinion. Where did she state her view as a fact?....you spend your time on here waffling about your opinion yet finger point at others for the same thing.

Wind up merchant.

The only point in question is whether you agree with the extent of the power they hold and whether you agree with the policies.

For example, the 'great reset' isn't a conspiracy theory, it's documentation and a book from the WEF itself. 'Replacement migration' isn't a conspiracy theory, it's UN policy.

Yes, we all know you would love a Farage party to break up Tory votes.

However, Labour are exactly the same story. We hear far less or next to nothing about a desire for Labour to break up.....Yet the Corbyn wing are in the same boat. Most of the grass roots paying for the plebs representing them aren't getting the policies they believe in......It's no different to the Tories....both party members are being screwed.

Both parties should break up....and if the country wants the dissident left or right then they can vote for it....If they want more of the same crap people like you promote, then they can vote for that too.

However, while I only hear cheer leading for a Tory split, forgive me if I don't just happen to blow a raspberry back in your general marble losing direction.

The thing is I have yet to hear a sensible alternative.

That's because there really isn't one. Whatever was done was going to be unwelcome and unpopular, but on balance what has been done is sensible.

Hunt is doing a good job. Steadying the ship whilst trying to protect the most vulnerable and not frighten the rest of us too much. Not that everyone posting here seems to appreciate that.

I certainly don't think so, but do wonder sometimes about you, as your constant delving into a parallel reality to what most perceive is odd, to say the least.

The WEF isn't the conspiracy theory. It's what you think their purpose is which is. The same with so called "globalists", who are simply people with their eyes and minds open to the reality of today's world. Which isn't to be feared. It's there to be embraced and and accepted.

The lady is, of course as entitled to her opinion as either of us are to ours. That though doesn't mean it makes any sense.

Your, or more accurately those dubious podcasters you borrow from, interpretation of what the WEF means by the "great reset" is where that conspiracy theory comes from. What it really is is an attempt to build something positive out of the Covid crisis and to recognise that this can be an opportunity for good.

Your claim about "replacement migration" is totally a conspiracy theory, and a typical one at that. It is NOT UN "policy". It is a research paper, intended to inform and stimulate objective discussions of possible solutions for countries with a declining population. Nothing more than that.

It's literally been happening in Europe for thirty years!

The lengths you will go to gaslight on here are quite incredible.

Hang on....better make sure I don't discuss that with someone else, it'll be a 'conspiracy theory'.
