Also, the Sanctions and Anti-Money Laundering Act 2018 certainly was of benefit to us. It enables the UK to create its own sanctions framework allowing us to issue sanctions rather than adopting EU or UN models and to make our own provisions for the purposes of the detection, investigation and prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing, rather than being subject to EU directives

I have moved no goal posts. It’s just that you are about as accurate as an Andy Gray free kick

The Trade Act again is simply an enabler act so we can one day replace our EU trade deals with those massively lucrative deals we were promised. Such a shame about the Liz Truss deals with Australia and New Zealand.

This from politico

LONDON — Conservative leadership hopeful Liz Truss was given detailed warnings by her own officials in 2020 that post-Brexit trade pacts with Australia and New Zealand would shrink the country's farming and food sectors, newly obtained government figures reveal.

Data from the U.K.'s trade department — shared with POLITICO and prepared for both deals ahead of the launch of negotiations in 2020 — for the first time details the relative losses and gains expected for each part of the British economy before Truss, then-trade secretary and now running to replace Boris Johnson as U.K. prime minister, forged ahead with pacts that have proven highly controversial with farmers.

The disclosure has already sparked anger from the U.K.'s farming lobby, which has long argued the deals — held up as a key prize of Britain's freedom from the European Union — will hit its members hard, while campaigners argue it shows tighter scrutiny of those deals is needed.

You ask for laws made by us since we left the EU that are of benefit to us. I give you some examples from 2018 and you then you say we didn't technically leave until 2020. I give you an example from 2021 that you then say is merely an 'enabler', but it of course enables us to reap benefits. Another is Elections Act 2022.
Your real question is, name a law enacted in the UK since we left the EU that Mapletree thinks is of benefit. That is difficult, as people like you think that everything the ‘wicked Tories’ do is more or less evil and that the only source of benefit is the non-democratic, authoritarian, price-rigging, protectionist racket that is the EU. You might find the odd (in every sense) UK law that enables people being arrested for praying silently in the street, or that give ‘rights’ to various minorities to compromise the rights of others that you could support.

We have reaped no benefits. Only disbenefits. That is the point. I am not particularly party political. Brexit was economically not just foolish but almost suicidal. Populism trumping being the stewards of our children’s future. Since then the government of the day has been hung up on issues internal to itself and done little to mitigate that awful decision. We are not more in charge of our future now, that is dreadfully clear

Fiona Bruce says Tory's NHS stats 'don't look so good' in awkward Question Time moment

BBC Question Time presenter Fiona Bruce said a Conservative claim of record spending on the NHS “doesn’t look so good” in an excruciating moment on the show.

Even in the financial crisis labour prioritised the NHS.

The tories have managed an average annual increase of only 1.6% despite covid and all the increased pressures and costs over the last 10 3years.

You can vote for a different government to make laws that you think will be of benefit, you couldn't do that in the EU.

The old stat line eh. Well stats say 70% odd of Europeans want illegal or uncontrolled immigration to stop. How does that sound as a stat ?

Laughable.

You actually believe left wing propaganda?
There is no amount of money that will fix the NHS.

It needs reform, and when anyone from the right ever says that, the dumbasses on the left try to claim that it will be destroyed.

Even that waste of skin Starmer is now saying it has to be reformed. If he is as reliable as Labour usually are with their manifesto promises, then I wouldn't hold your breath.

You forgot about Steeleye.

He has Jeremy Corbyn wallpaper and wears a ushanka in the bath.

The NHS can't take any more reform, Sunak and Starmer are politicians we have seen how they interfere and create problems.

We don't need them, we need the NHS.

For us, how many of us dread getting ill or an accident I know I do.

I've seen instances where patients are waiting four days in corridors it's quite appalling, the staff sh****d out and demoralised.

The under-funding of the NHS by the tories is a national disgrace.

We should give all our money to the religion that is the NHS and they could give us back some pocket money - if there is time enough before they squander it.
