A bit too much hyperbole for this time of night.

The Tories are hamstrung by division in their ranks. Brexit was supposed to fix that. It didn't.

Thinking of voting Labour? If they do a deal with the Liberals them we will get a big push for proportional representation and another referendum on Europe.

This country is already screwed enough already without that lunacy.

Why? What difference would it make? What would a Labour Government do that is any different to the Tories?

Maybe Labour would allow 10,000's of thousands of illegal immigrants to land on our shores and allow a foreign court to hamstring us from doing anything about it?

Maybe Labour would introduce hate-crime laws that stop us calling out the fact that some 20 stone bloke called Norman is taking the piss by dressing up in a frock and insisting it/he/she/WTF has period pains?

And so on and on.

Ironically Labour might actually prove more right-wing than this current Tory shower of s***e on many issues.

I simply refuse to play this blue or red game anymore. There is no difference between them. I am convinced both Sunak and Starmer are Washington imposed stooges and we are just being played.

I want it to actually get even worse now because as things stand, there is no cure. Just different shades of the same poison. We need more chaos before order can be restored again.

I won't vote for either of them. And a curse on both their houses.

Yep, the Tories introduced gay marriage and gay adoption with little grass roots support. It's under the Tories that the LGBT 'relationships' stuff now gets taught to children as a 'British value'.....with families not allowed to pull their children out of those classes.

It was the Tories who allowed one million immigrants into the country in a year, significantly topping anything Blair did when he decided to rub the British right noses in diversity.

Despite opposing it in opposition the Tories haven't overturned any of the free speech restrictions and 'protected classes' definitions the left imposed onto the country.

Indeed, it's under the Tories that new free speech restrictions are being imposed. The Tories are all about talking tough to their base and then implementing much of Labour's social programmes when they are actually in power.

At this point anyone who thinks the Tories are anymore than the left ten or twenty years ago is deluding themselves.

We don't have a popular right wing party in this country. Indeed, on social issues we have two main parties that pretend to be different but in reality represent a 'uniparty'.

Their arguments are entirely financial....The Tories only really care about house prices....You could call it the 'house price' party and be more accurate than 'Conservative'.

Still, I don't regard the Tories as financially responsible anymore considering what they did on Covid and this Ukraine war.....something that only a few of us on here recognise as putting this country in danger.....That emergency phone alarm wasn't done for no reason. We now live under higher risk from several directions. Personally, I can say I never supported the decisions that led here.

And a Westminster Conservative Party who got rid of a Prime Minister, elected by the membership, for having the audacity to pledge to cut taxes.

And replace her with the man she beat.

Westminster needs to burn.

It's insane that a Conservative leader would put out the message that he doesn't support traditional family values. The reality is that we don't have a conservative party, we have a social liberal party.....a party that the Tories of my youth would be shocked by.

He's not a leader chosen by the grass roots and he looks like toast whatever happens.

Starmer isn't liked either but this situation is increasingly what 'democracy' is offering its people....a non choice between crappy A or crappy B.

Agree with much of the above - neither party are representing their bases currently. The whole system is in desperate need of reform and I don't see myself voting for either party any time soon.

I hate this Tory party and should be a bloody easy vote for Labour to win, but they are offering nothing but 'more of the same, we'll just do it slightly more competently'.

It's not surprising the greens performed well in the local elections - people are desperate for any sort of alternative.

Why would proportional representation be lunacy given the obvious flaws with our current system?

Do you not think it's time other alternatives were considered, even if not PR?

The system clearly doesn't work.

Back to Tory bashing...

JRM all but admitting that the new Voter ID requirements were an attempt at voter suppression (he called it Gerrymandering, but it's not really that);

I'm sure all the free speech champions will be outraged by this.

I wouldn't call Dianne Abbott a 'monster' plus it's not her party she is just a representative of it.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Kwasi has re-surfaced, only to be described as 'living in a parallel universe' and his partner Truss even dafter than usual in China.

Its not long ago that these two were British Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer!

Gawd help us, as they say.

One of my favourite 'car crash' interviews was when Truss was wheeled out to defend Tory housing policy.

She ranted on for an age whereupon Andrew Neill intervened to tell her they hadn't actually built any of the starter homes that she claimed.

This of course did not deter her and it was downhill all the way.

Greens doing well and would be a good choice in my view.

As an intro the party's ideology combines environmentalism with left-wing economic policies, including well-funded and locally controlled public services. It advocates a steady-state economy with the regulation of capitalism, and supports proportional representation.

You may even be able to go for a swim.
