On one occasion an immigration officer was very rude to my wife, I politely asked to see her supervisor and she pointed to a sign that said abuse of officers was an offence and she would call security. I stood my ground and received an apology from her supervisor.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I think you took the correct course of action. No reason to be rude, unfortunately many passengers think differently

I think he was being genuine and talking from experience and the media and usual activists twisted his words.
