Schlupp can cover LB seeing as he's not going to Afcon. He has done it before although he is more PvA than Mitchell. Also, Ferguson has played LB as well as CB, but, would prefer him as cover for Wardy atm.

As others have said, good to be in a position where there's no urgent need for signings. Anyone coming in will be a bonus to an already good season but always good to plan ahead for areas that need cover in the future. A long term replacement for Ward will need to be on the radar, as well as more depth at LB. It feels like the attacking department is well covered especially if Mateta can kick on from his Norwich display, although cover for Zaha would also be nice.

Agreed, Ferguson 8s excellent cover all across the back line as he can play either fullback role as well as Centre back.

I really doubt there will be any activity this window.

Only possible activity I can see will be if we do agree a deal to release Mateta early from his loan deal and sign a replacement whose contract is close to ending. Eddie Nketiah is a name that keeps coming up.

I think as others have said some cover at LB would be nice assuming Ferguson is on the road to recovery. I'd be happy if we got a young squad player from the lower leagues as cover.
