The interview with Botham was interesting.
Rip it up - start again - change things quickly - make red ball cricket the focus etc.
The ECB won't do it - like everyone nowadays they can't see further than next week and few quid more for the coffers.
I would love him to be in charge of cricket - at least it would make Boris's parties seem pretty tame!

The bowlers have skills but Wood aside most are only bowling at less than 140kph and that is when they are fresh.

We do have a few more fast bowlers in Jofra Archer, Ollie Stone and Brydon Carse to name but three but unfortunately all were injured

To come from England and play in Australia you need time to acclimatise as well as game time to get used to the harder pitches. England to start with were well under prepared. The bowlers have skills but Wood aside most are only bowling at less than 140kph and that is when they are fresh. Even 4th change bowling all rounder for the Aussies bowls at over 140kph. Second part is England's bowlers are all right arm over the week making it easier for Aussie batsman. There are flaws in both batting lines up but more so in England's.
Butler was woeful behind the stumps and at least Billings looks like he can keep.
A fully firing Archer would have made a difference but Leach is not a test standard spin bowler.

A good spinner along the lines of Swanny would be useful. Obviously, Warney even better. The "part time" spinners don't cut it. One day really hurts spinners. Getting whacked out of the ground on a green pitch isn't that helpful to anyone: batsmen or bowlers.

Was funny when we're all supposed to be outraged about the drinking. I was just thinking I was surprised the England players didn't drop theirs.
