Thanks for posting this Spider. Perhaps it would be appropriate for his memorial to be incorporated into the new main stand? Just an idea, if his surviving relations could be asked. Red and Blue Army!

Thank you for sharing the link and the comments guys. The memorial marks the resting place of Edmund Goodman in Beckenham Crematorium and Cemetery, Elmers End Road, so cannot be moved. Plus it belongs to the family. I certainly agree some form of memorial should be included at the ground. Apparently the club have had contact with Edmund's grandson in recent years and are trying to contact him and put me in touch. I was shocked to see the current state of his memorial stone and set about obtaining a quote and trying to raise the funds to have it completely restored. If any supporters visiting the page could click on the link and contribute, no matter how small, then we can restore the monument. At the moment, it is not a fitting tribute and I would love to see it refurbished. I am delighted to tell everyone that the memorial to Edmund Goodman has now been restored. It looks amazing. Thank you to everyone who donated.

Well done Lee and thanks for the update. I'd be grateful for any progress updates. including whether you're able to contact Edmund's grandson. He's such an important figure in the history of the club and I think what you're doing is brilliant.
