And I disagree. Labour are only doing well as they are the anti tory. That only gets you so far

I tend to agree......Though that approach worked for Biden.

Most people aren't political and the their views tend to be shaped by media reactions....because the conformity urge is always very strong.

I disagree. Suspect that people who like to pull the strings behind the curtains might actually see Starmer as a far more 'conservative' prospect than Johnson who has proven to be a genuine buffoon. A Labour party that expells somebody like Corbyn, who led it to over 40% of the vote in 2017, and is led by a snake like Starmer (and a Knight of the Realm to boot), is probably a safer prospect for the globalists then the Tories.

Everybody says Labour are dead and buried but the polls don't show that at all and the anger against Johnson and co is real. That will take a long while to die down and come 2024, perhaps it might be all up for grabs.

Starmer probably just needs to let Johnson hang himself rather than actively campaign on anything. Keep on battering the Lefties and start to make patriotic noises and he may well make number 10 yet.

The only fly in the ointment might be if Corbyn decides to lead a grass-roots 'Socialist' party. Interesting to see Laura Pidock resign yesterday as well because prior to 2019 she was being touted as the new golden girl of the Left.

Lets see. Personally, I would love Corbyn to come out fighting and set up a new party. Would make British politics all the more interesting.

I would love to see the establishment of new parties which truly reflected the political views of their members, without forcing them to pretend to support views they fundamentally disagree with. Any party led by Corbyn would gain some support, but unless we switch to PR they wouldn't get too much representation.

Exactly the same applies to the right of the Tory party. They, or the moderates, can split off anytime they like. The big winner if this were to happen would be in the centre, whether coalescing around the Lib Dems is an open question.

As someone who wants to see UK politics return to the centre, with only mild fluctuations from right to left, a return to respect, co-operation and decency I really hope this is our future.

Liz Truss flies a private jet to the other side of the world.

You see they don't have the internet or telephones in Oz, they just drink until they pass out mostly.

All the way to advise them, fresh from her Afghan doggie airlift, that the Ukraine conflict could result in China invading Taiwan.

Predictably she was rubbished in the Oz press 'strewth' etc. 'relevance deprivation' an excellent phrase.

Miss Truss, China will invade Taiwan when it feels like it, to them it is the equivalent of our Isle if Wight.

Starmer led the charge for the change of policy on Brexit from 2017 which effectively guaranteed Labour would lose any general election fought on it.

The electoral mathematics of the Brexit vote in 2016 showed that clearly. There never was an electoral majority in our first past the post system for any kind of second referendum.

Meaning that Starmer was either very, very stupid. Or very, very underhand. No other option on the table.

Apparently a high profile Labour MP - shadow Minister - said yesterday that if Labour get in that they would look to see if it was worth reversing Brexit.
Good policy that - buffoons!

Well I mean I must say, it's monumentally dirty, but Boris is certainly doing his best to buy time. Clogging up with works for a few weeks could feasibly save his skin.

So stories like the £500k private jet on taxpayer money must really get your back up, right?

Or the £37bn taxpayer money on track and trace?
