On-topic Reminder: Barry Cryer on Richard Herring's podcast just last year. Some interesting insights and tidbits from his past including the big names that he worked with: [Link] Definitely worth a listen - and indeed a watch. Didn't hold back but was all very good natured. The mark of the man. Was still sharp as a tack and certainly knew how to have a good time!

I had the great pleasure of having dinner with him once. It was a corporate shindig at one of the big London hotels. I was a guest and each table had a "personality" on it. I was lucky and happened to be hosted by Barry Cryer. It was a very long time ago, before he became quite as well known as he did. All I remember was that he was every bit as amusing in person as he was on-screen, or the radio. A genuinely nice guy who just enjoyed making people laugh. Bet it made his evening sharing a table with you, W.E. RIP Barry Cryer. Comedy genius.
