I may be a bit thick here, but what has this got to do with globalism?

More a Rashomon style narrative, where each party has a different story from a different perspective?

A black guy attacks Jews in England and you don't see how that is global?

The historical evidence for low trust to exist between particularly different communities is as long as very long arms.....hence it's a probable product of the global village.

Oh global to the point that those involved are not wholly indigenous? We have discussed this before. There isn't a human being in this country who is wholly indigenous if go go back far enough.

Where is your start point? Perhaps the fall in sea level that allowed folk to walk across the new channel from the Continent. Anybody that followed those first settlers are immigrants and a product of globalism?

Maybe we should start with the Romans, or the Angles and Saxons, or the Norsemen, whether from Scandinavia or Normandy?

This is why I have a problem with Nationalism and xenophobia. How do you define the "nation" to which you are an "ist"? And who can claim to be with the angels?

BTW I believe in border controls, but people move. Thus, there are plenty who post on here who love this country but live elsewhere. Are they committing some wrong?

Yes, we discussed this and didn't agree.

While I prefer Anglo Saxon basically my cut off point is northern European, which would be many many thousands of years.

It's not about people moving, as that's always happened, it's about who has ownership of the land. I believe that all countries have a right to define that....like Israel for example.

I don't agree with the global village concept as either good for nations nor trust between communities.

Any attack on any individual is completely out of order and all of us of reasonable mind think it is unacceptable.
There really are some scum out there who deserve to be sent somewhere where life is thoroughly unpleasant so they can learn what a great country they have the chance to live in.

This. If you mindlessly attack people just going about their day, it doesn't bode well for anyone in your orbit going forward. God bless CCTV. Enjoy your cell pal!

Although whatever was said it is pathetic a strong young adult should hit out at two old timers, it appears to me in the footage that the smaller Jewish man was firstly over interested in the black fellah as he walked towards them and it appears he was the one saying something. The police need to clarify exactly what this was about. It clearly wasn’t a mindless attack. The black fellah had gone by and based on the words then struck out.

It's always hard to know the ins and outs just from a clip, but whatever they said (if anything), it's still essentially an inexcusable attack on them.

He attacked the guy because he's an asshole not because he's black. The full extent of the law should be used to hold him accountable for his actions. The vast majority of black people aren't attacking people so this isn't fodder for an around about way claiming that certain people either shouldn't be here or should hold less ownership of the land or belonging when they do.

Realistically, decisions are made at the border of this island. If a country wants to close their border or anything along those lines, fine. Beyond that once you get the the point where children are born here, this land is their home and their personal contribution dictates their value or otherwise to society. With this guy that will likely get him locked up, and rightly so. I would imagine many if not most people here have non white friends, partners, that are as British as they are in any meaningful way. There is no other place they've never been to that they should toddle off to. Value your personal achievements, not a falsely perceived or default superiority over other demographics.

Much like the idea that Conservatives are all gunning for Muslims, I find it very hard to believe that everyone in the Labour party is sat there enraged about Jews. In fact, I think you'd struggle to find a minority that people in this country hold less angry or negative views about. So to assume that someone attacking a couple of Jewish gentlemen is somehow as result of them supporting Lammy (unknown) due to his connection to Corbyn who some believe is anti semitic is possibly up there with the most bizarre things I've every heard.

Or perhaps you're not saying that at all. In which case David Lammy and what he does or doesn't believe has absolutely nothing to do with this. Ultimately you appear to be latching onto a deplorable attack and draining some kind of political mileage out of it.

You entirely miss my point which is that Lammy has not condemned the attack as MP for the area. Whether he does so as a general condemnation of crime or as an anti semitic incident he should comment.

I did not say that the attacker was a Lammy supporter, that is simply something you have made up

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

There is a comment of condemnation from him in the article that you posted to start this thread.

Hopefully the two guys are ok and the perpetrator gets dealt with accordingly.

I'm not really sure what the precise terms are.

But essentially the UK is a northern European country which should always have that in-built as the majority.....otherwise it is no longer European let alone British....in the traditional sense of the word.

I'm against the global village concept, not just for us but within all countries. Every country needs to ensure that.....for example, if we are against the Chinese importing themselves into Tibet and ethnically cleansing the country we should be against the concept everywhere.

That's not an argument saying people can't move it's an argument saying that majorities must be maintained.
