Mistakes aren’t the issue though - refs are only human so some errors are inevitable; particularly when players are so adept at conning them, but VAR was brought in to stop these sorts of thing happening and it hasn’t been very successful. Or if it has the error rate before it’s introduction must’ve been very high indeed.

Mistakes aren’t the issue though - refs are only human so some errors are inevitable; particularly when players are so adept at conning them, but VAR was brought in to stop these sorts of thing happening and it hasn’t been very successful. Or if it has the error rate before it’s introduction must’ve been very high indeed.

For Everton it was obvious beyond belief and in our game versus Liverpool if he saw what the rest of the world saw then how was it a penalty. It is corrupt in the var office - it must be because no one can be that blind or incompetent - they are downright cheats!

Willo - the VAR referee should not make these mistakes - he has every view on a screen in front of him.
For Everton it was obvious beyond belief and in our game versus Liverpool if he saw what the rest of the world saw then how was it a penalty.
It is corrupt in the var office - it must be because no one can be that blind or incompetent - they are downright cheats!

Nope - Chris Kavanagh (the VAR official) is due to ref the Burnley v Leicester game tonight.

The on-field mistakes are not the point, as others have said. VAR is supposed to help the on-field officials in rectifying their mistakes or, at the very least, it's supposed to give them the ability to watch it again. Which, in this case if he'd been asked to would have almost certainly have led to overturning the original decision.

Inconclusive only in the mind of the VAR. It should not be a subjective decision, the very least the ref should have been referred to the screen. Obviously PGMOL think it was a wrong decision.
IMO the VAR officials should be independent from the referees “boys club”. Should be ex-players who have some idea of whether someone has actually been fouled or is trying to con the ref

The VAR clearly decided that having looked at the images,as far as he was concerned it was inconclusive as to whether the contact with the ball was made in an area which constitutes 'Handball'.

With all due respect Willo, unless there is ambiguity as to what is categorised as an arm, VAR has the capability to review the instance from various camera angles, in slow motion, and decide whether it hit a f***ing arm or not. The only two explanations are either corruption or gross incompetency. Given the CK is now in charge of the Burnley game I have to assume it's the former. Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

With all due respect Willo, unless there is ambiguity as to what is categorised as an arm, VAR has the capability to review the instance from various camera angles, in slow motion, and decide whether it hit a f***ing arm or not.

The only two explanations are either corruption or gross incompetency. Given the CK is now in charge of the Burnley game I have to assume it's the former.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
