Wow, Mr negative. You are right that we still have to play all those teams below us. On the flip side all those teams below us still have to play us. And we can relax and play whereas they will all be playing with nerves and panic.
Trust me, ask any one of those teams fans where they would want to be, where they are or where we are and they'd bite your arm off to swap places with us. We could play in first gear for the rest of the season and we'll still finish higher than at least 3 of those teams. Reality is we wont play in first gear. We'll likely start winning again and soon.
We are not going to even be in a relegation battle let alone get relegated. Small club mentality. Look UP not down

Sadly, you and I seem to be in a minority on this site. People keep saying 'Remember Oldham'. I'd hoped we'd moved on from that mentality, but clearly not. One poster has said today they expect us to lose to Brentford given the form we're in. And what kind of form are Brentford in, having lost FIVE on the trot. Yes, of course it's possible they could beat us, but I'm not expecting us to lose.

BTW I was originally from the heart of West Yorkshire but only because my Army father was stationed there at the time.

Yep. The media going on about us not winning a league game in 2020! Ffswe have only played 4 and only lost 2. West Ham and Liverpool.
We all know Willo is the main doommonger on here

Prior to the season I was cautiously optimistic whilst expecting some 'Lumps and bumps' on the journey.

I do however have a sense of unease primarily because of some of the poor goals we concede. We have only kept ONE clean sheet in our last 12 PL games and that was against a struggling Norwich team. A defeat tomorrow and I do feel my brow could be corrugated with worry.

But Willo,we secured a point against Norwich despite your pre match prediction of a defeat and we will in all probability win tomorrow against an abysmal, over rated Brentford who have cultivated a losing habit.

The club has and is going through a huge change in playing style and I for one think PV has done a great job so far. As for relegation, I feel very secure with our progress and with the class of player and good moral we have, just can't see this happening.

I don't think the concerns are that misguided. We've won two league games since beating Wolves on 6th November. Games are settled by fine margins and we've not done much to put ourselves on the right side of those IMO.

If we don't find a couple of results in the next four games then it will inevitably mean that teams below us will be closer and confidence will be eroded. The next couple of weeks are massive IMO.

Please remember this is a site where people can offer an opinion.

No talk of small club mentality but having supported Palace since '68 I have to say we are not yet a big club.

I am worried about the team at the moment. Whist the most skillful team we have seen we do seem to lack fighters and as Vieira said lack confidence. Too much bad luck and too many dropped points, if we get closer to the scrap I'm not sure if we have the nous necessary to claw our way out. Previous seasons are littered with teams 'too good to go down' going down. Totally agree that the next 4 games are key to our season.

In terms of home games, not so long ago they only went down to Man C by a narrow margin of 0-1, and beat Steven Gerrard's A.Villa 2-1.

Indeed they have lost their last 6 games, but these included Everton away in Frank Lampard's first game and games against Man C, Liverpool and Man Utd.

I was in conversation with a chap tonight who expressed similar sentiments.
As far as he was concerned, should we lose to Brentford, the alarm bells will be ringing.
