Watford are poor and we should be ok, but Burnley will be putting crosses in throughout the game and if we defend like we did for Chelsea's winner then there's only one result.

With a new 6ft 6 inch striker it is a nail on certainty. Added with their big defenders moving up from the back our defence may not have a happy afternoon.

Stick Benteke in defence as he heads a ball better there than anywhere else on the pitch.

My early season optimism has waned...

Here's my predictions for the remaining games which is slightly pessimistic and hopefully the return of Jimmy Mac and Kouyate will prove me wrong, and we see a return to some of that start of the season form. However, I reckon its going to be squeaky bum time until the end of the season.

Games left Pts
Watford 1
Burnley 1
Wolves 0
Man City 0
Newcastle 1
Arsenal 0
Leicester 1
Everton 1
Leeds 1
Southampton 1
Watford 1
Aston Villa 0
Moan U 0

Olise certainly puts in great corners and free kicks as well as in play crossing. Big problem is that we can’t win anything in the air with this present team. I never feel confident when we get a free kick or corner that we are going to score. Our best chances earlier in the season was when we were getting Gallagher and Macca into the opponents box with quick short ground passes. This doesn’t seem to happen anymore?

I just looked on Bet365 and we are currently 12/1 with the immediate 4 teams below us 3/1 and the bottom 3 odds on.
There are 4 teams below us BEFORE we reach the bottom 3. We have dropped a few points recently which have left us all (or nearly all) in squeaky bum land.
I don't believe we will average 1 point a game through the remainder of the season but will pick up about 7-9 points in the remaining games which will be enough to keep us up with a bit to spare.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

We are currently averaging 1.04 pts per game which, if maintained, will see us with 39 pts at the end.

Of those below us, and if maintaining their current average, will finish with:

Leeds 36
Everton 36
Brentford 35
Newcastle 35
Burnley 30
Watford 29
Norwich 26

grounds for cautious optimism ?

I think I, like many I would suggest, will find comfort in fatalist pessimism and finally rejoice when we secure safety with 2-4 games to go. You know, the usual.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Amos and Jeremiah were doom-mongerers, Elijah was quite upbeat for an OT prophet.
